No, I'm not really feeling sorry for myself. In a way, I think it is rather funny.

My stepdaughter, who lives about 50 miles away, came yesterday afternoon. We had planned on having dinner, then going to the 11:00 Christmas service, have her stay overnight, and stay until late morning. But she became so allergic to my cats (at least that's our presumption) that she left right after dinner last night. Her eyelids started swelling and her eyes itching so badly, she found it intolerable. She told me on the phone today that she even had to stop on the way home for a while. One eye was almost swollen shut and the other was running so bad she could hardly see to drive. She had taken an allergy pill before she came, too.

To tell you the truth, I think I'm having similar allergy problems, just not quite as severe. But because I also have an additional problem with my oil glands blocking up on my eyelids, the ophthalmologist last week didn't think it was an allergy problem. But I think in reality, I have both things going on.

I wasn't alone yesterday or today, but I know I'll be spending New Year's Eve/Day alone with Jamie, because my husband has to work, and I can't leave my "baby" alone to deal with the fireworks. That really doesn't bother me much. He's here 365 days a year, and has brought us so much joy.

My kitty spent the time while i was out today snuggled into my dads jacket on the couch.
I dont want to leave my kitty at home on new years eve especially with all these weirdos firing fireworks all over the place.

The day alone hasn't been bad at all. I have a terrible sleep problem and had only had three hours of sleep the night before and no time for a nap yesterday, so I really had a sleep deficit. Though I woke up as usual at 4:30 this morning, I was able to go back to bed about 8:00 and sleep until 11:30! So I made up for lost time. It sure makes my sore eyes feel better, too.

This afternoon I'm making a giant casserole with wild rice and left over turkey, so I'll have about 14-16 servings to put in the freezer. Yeah! That means many days later I won't have to do much cooking!

Well I spent Christmas alone too, because of my babies! I was invited to go to my Sister in laws brothers home with my brother and her family but I prefered to be with my babies. I AM lonely and a bit sad (don't see why they cannot come HERE sometime
) but at least I am with my babies!

I was invited to see friends but I couldn't go because Persil is so sick. I spent the day feeding her iquid every hout and researching FIP, which I am sure she has got. A sad day, and the vet visit tomorrow will be sadder still.

Oh no, Jenny, that is really sad!
I hope that's not what it is! This was a real bummer of a Christmas for you. Do keep us informed.

I had a quick Christmas dinner with the family and rushed back home to my kitties. I got myself some cheese and a bottle of Merlot and watched LOTR dvds.

I'll probably do the same thing on New Year's eve (007 films this time) and like everybody said, the fireworks really scare my babies so I have to be there!

Persil is in my thoughts, Jenny.

Christmas day for me was a very busy one - but I did find time to sneak off into another room and watch the final ep. of my favourite TV show!

Persil is going in for Xrays and tests on Wed to see if she really has FIP. Meanwhile I am holding off going home for what would be my 'CHristmas' visit. My sister is having a big black tie dinner for her silver wedding on Jan 8th, and I hope to be there. It would have been a kind of belated Christmas too, which is one reason why I didn't mind being alone here for actual Christmas. But I have to wait and see how things turn out - Persil is totally syringe fed and watered right now and I have no-one I can entrust that kind of care to. So good vibes needed for Wed.

Many get well and good vibes to Percil.

As far as my Christmas, l loaded the cats up and took them to my parent's house with me. A good time was had by all. The boys loved playing with the gift wrapping and boxes. For New Year's Eve, thankfully around here people only go outside and hollar and yell at mid-night. Then again we have a fireworks ban in the city limits.
