Sorry, I have to share this. I am so proud of my boys!
It's the first X-mas with the three cats, and I was really worried about wrapping presents. Our last cat never wanted anything to do with me, and though she'd watch me wrap, she never bothered wrapped presents, or bows and ribbons. These new boys have to chew on everything! I was thinking that I'll get one gift wrapped, do another one, and have to re-wrap the first. Or worse, hide away in a room for two hours to get everything wrapped. I am a social creature when X-mas comes around!
They did so well!!!!!
Little One just kept coming and attacking the rolled up rug. He could care less there was rustling paper, shiny ribbon, and crunchy bows. Hans sat in the hallway and waited for me to finish so he could have his dinner.
Mer was the best. He really wanted a bow, so I told him he could take one from the bag and keep it if he behaved himjself. I was just joking around.... Do you know he actually did? He picked out one red metalic bow, and carried it around the house for about half an hour! I heard him go downstairs, and when he came back up he didn't have it, and he wanted another one. He kept trying to steal the bow off of my Papa's chocolate. I'm over there going, "You can't have that bow. That's Papa's bow. You have to learn to share!" Once again, he listened to me. So I told him he could have one more bow from the bag, and that was it. Two was enough. So he pulled out a silver one, carried it over to a huge shopping bag, and slept on it. Man, I love this cat!
Okay, so I don't quite trust them when I'm not there to supervise, and I locked the gifts away until dinner tomorrow. (We do dinner at Baba's on X-mas eve, and stay home for X-mas day). Little One and Mer are sound asleep behind me on my bed, with both bows.
I can't wait until X-mas morning. I'm going to let them unwrap my gifts for me, since they behaved so well tonight!
(Oh! And they haven't bothered any decorations, or the tree, or the ornaments! It's more than I had hoped for!)
