I'm not one of the forum experts but until one of them comes along, I'll offer my meager bits of advice.

Butt dragging or scooting can be a sign of clogged anal glands. You should take the kitten to a vet to have her checked out and see what it is.

I don't think the kitten sucking on the other cat's nipples is a problem and it's probably not what is causing the diarrhea. I think the fact that he is butt scooting and having diarrhea means that you need to change his diet. He should be having more solid stools: from what I've heard, the solid stools help express the anal glands. Here again, I'd see a vet so you can be clear about what her problem is.

As far as the cat purring only with other cats: give her some time. She is more comfortable with other cats right now but within a few weeks, I'll bet she'll be competing for your attention just like the rest of her furry family!

Keep checking this thread until Dr. Doolittle, hissy, Pat & Alix, Kumbulu, or one of the other experts gives you some advice! In the meantime, welcome to TCS!

Many of the forums experts may have gone to bed! You should check back regularly for the next 24 hours to see if you get some more advice!

Your kitty needs to go to the vet. Scooting is usually a sign of worms or of impacted anal glands. On rare occasions if you have a long haired kitty, some of the hair can get inside the rectum and cause problems, in that case you clip the hairs of the kitty, but otherwise it is a parasite or an anal gland problem. Anytime a kitten has diarrhea a vet should be consulted as kittens dehydrate quickly

I agree with hissy. Perhaps collect a sample and take it off to the vet for testing as it could be worms. If he checks out well at the vet, you might want to try gradually intorducing a different food as some kittens tolerate some brands of food better than others. Go for a good quality food such as Nutro, Wellness, Innova or Chicken Soup.

My little Cissa was dewormed before coming to me at 3 months, but ended up with Coccidia and had smelly diarrhea. Then she continued with diarrhea till I found the tape worm segments. Since being treated for the tapeworm she has normal poops, though occasionally still soft, but she's fighting a URI right now.
