My cat, Amidamaru is about a year old now. He's been to a couple of vets and has been identified as either a Russian Blue or a runt mixbreed. His bloodline can be traced to two Turkish Angolas whom where his great-grand-parents, Sundance and Bush who belonged to Jim Coutts who was Principal Secretary to P. E. Trudeau.

He's got very thin fur, you can't grab it, your grip slides right off. His pads, tongue and gums are black. His parents and siblings are all long haired Maine Coons, so we're all very confused as to what this little darling is.

Out of over 10+ litters, he's the only kitten we've had with such short hair, flesh coloring and solid fur colour.

Thank you so much to anyone who can help identifying his breed~

The cat is beautiful! For it to be a Russian blue or mix he would have to have one or both parents a Russian Blue. To be so different from his siblings he may have a different sire than the other kittens. Is there another cat that is black or blue living in the house or neighborhood that might have gotten in while the female was in heat?

No.. our cats are all indoor, his father is a Main Coon who is grey and white layered, like a mink coat? There were no other uneutered males in the house and the mother has a calico pattern.

Ummmmm, he's a mixed breed. His parents aren't pure bred Maine Coons (at least one) if you trace the lines back to Turkish Angoras.

Sorry, but he's just a domestic.....

and I have to echo the question raised by Gaye:
Why are you breeding them?

No doubt he's a cute little guy, but the dead giveaway he's not a Russian Blue are the black paw pads. RB's must have mauve paw pads as part of the breed standard, and both the sire and dam must be purebred, registered RB's.

Cheers,
Jenn (proud mom of 2 RB's - Mik and Lex)
