Recap:...
since my Emmet almost died due to a urinary obstruction he has been a completly different cat....he is no longer afraid of visitors to our house...he is no longer afraid of heights..(he has now claimed doofus and mabbys spot on the top of the cat tree)...and he is the happiest I have ever seen him...john contributed this to the fact... once a man has had a cathader inserted 6 times in one week he is no longer afraid of anything.......

The problem.......
Since this new Emmet has emerged, him and Doofus have been a lot more aggresive towards eachother...they have always had a relationship laced with many rumbles...but lately they have been more intense...hair flying fights....They don't cry out in pain or hiss they seem to be playing but they are way more aggresive towards eachother.....

My Question.......
Is this a side affect of Emmets near death experience...or is this a symptom of my boys growing up?...(Emmet will be 3 on dec.26th and Doofus turned 1 in August).....or is it something else???

Sounds like this is a status thing where they are determining who is the top cat. I am assuming that both cats are neutered, if not do so ASAP. With spring on it's way all the females in the neighborhood will be coming into heat and then the fighting will begin in earnest!

Bossy kitten! The boys must be trying to decide who should be in charge. It should work itself out soon. Keep an eye on them just in case though.

How long has it been since Emmet came back from the vet? If he was there for a while he may not smell the same to the other kitty. If this is the problem you can put a touch of vanilla under each chin and on their backs where it meets the tail.

When my Simon had a blockage and came home a week later my other cat Max wouldn't go near him. I did the vanilla thing for a few days and they got back to normal.
