I have just one present left to buy now and so I sat on the net and looked through catalogues to find exactly what I wanted (a micro system, with 5CD, 1 Cassette deck and radio in silver, for my Mum) to avoid going into town!
So, off I went to Index to buy the brilliant (and affordable) system.
I chose the number, checked it was in stock and went over to pay. The lady on the counter said that there was a slight difference in the product from the one shown in the catalogue. I asked what the 'slight' difference was and she told me that the speakers were cased in wood effect instead of silver.
As I haven't got too much time before Christmas, I decided to buy it and cut my losses.
It came to the counter and I was slightly confused, it wasn't slightly different, it was a totally different micro system!!!
It was a totally different shape, had more powerful speakers and only one CD!!??
I went to return it and the lady who served me in the first place wouldn't even look at me!! When I explained the problem to another member of staff, even she was laughing!!
In the space of literally five minutes, I bought and returned a stereo!!
Only thing is, now I have to hunt again!!
