Ok guys, I have a real dumb question for you all......does water cause you to have heartburn? I'm in the process of adding more water intake to my daily routine, and have noticed a great increase in the amount of heartburn that I'm having also.....or is the stress just finally getting to me?

I don't think it will be the water. Normally for people suffering from heartburn or acid reflux they're recommended to take more water to dilute the acid. Maybe it could be some other change to your diet?

Hmmm, stomach is kinda full, not laying down though, that's only a fond wish right now!

Sweets is right, drink your water on an empty stomach. It's known to cause stomach problems when large quantities are drunk with food.

Hi, Don't think the water is causing the pain, I have had acid reflux, which I took medication for, (still do at times). Also they discovered because the pain would get bad at certain times, ( I would feel sick and feel like I was going to toss my cookies), I had a problem with my gall bladder, they discovered it didn't empty fast enough and that was causing the problem, thus they removed it. Not sure that is your problem, but thought I would let you know. Hope this helps.

I have severe acid reflux and if I drink too much water it causes problems. What happens it anything that presses against the valve between your stomach and your esophagus will allow the acid to burn. Laying wrong can do it. Certain foods are worse than others (ice cream is really bad for me).
