i read this on the petfinder site and i would like to know if anyone else sees anything wrong with it
i am not going to say what i find odd about it, i do not want to influence anyones opinion

Notes: (cats name) is a very friendly and loveable boy who will make a great family member. He just wants to be part of the goings-on and canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t wait to climb your holiday tree and drink that delicious tree water! Ash is a big softee so come on in and give him a squeeze!

so, what do you think?

Welll......I guess they thought it would be funny to word it that way, but "can't wait to climb your tree and drink the water" is liable to put more people off than make them laugh, unless they are used to dealing with this sort of thing.....IMO

Climbing the tree is normal cat behavior, but drinking the tree water could lead to gastrointestinal problems, and thus shouldn't be represented as "normal" or "acceptable" behavior, lest anyone think it's okay for their cats to do so.

TO me it sounds like the cat needs a good home to go to especially if they are letting him drink tree water!

I agree with carolcat. They thought it would be a funny ad for the cat. I guess they were targetting the naive.

Can't the water from a pine tree kill a cat? I was under the impression it was excessively dangerous to them because of the sap that leaks from the tree.

From the TCS home page an article called, 'Cats and Christmas - Tips For Cat Owners', written by Mary Anne Miller and Anne Moss states:

"If you have a live tree, never let your cat drink from the water in the tree stand. Most people use aspirin or special chemicals to help preserve the tree and these can be deadly for cats! Even if you use pet safe preservatives, the tree itself releases toxic sap into the water, so you'd need to cover the water altogether and make it inaccessible to pets."
