Traveling with pets

I would never takes my catss because they would be incredibly cranky but I do take Chewie (my chihuahua) with me when I travel. She has been to Florida and to LA.
She comes in the cabin on the airplane with me (under my seat) and stays in the hotel with us.
The hotel that we stayed at in LA charged us about $100 for the visit as a "deposit" (non-refundable mind you). I guess to clean the room after we've left. They didn't offer any special pet services nor were you allowed to leave your pet in your room when you went out but overall it was pleasant enough experience.
I highly recommend contacting the management of hotels where you've stayed and they have allowed your pet to stay with you. It's good to let them know that you appreciate it so they don't discontinue the service if one jerk complains.
