I love him.. but he's driving me nuts!!

Why does he want to do happy feet on my head at 4 AM?

Consider yourself a security blanket and mommy substitute! Just trim the nails and enjoy it while you can. Soon this kitty will be all grown up and mostly ignore you unless there is food to be had or wants scritches!

There are several possibilities.

1. Your head is in his way. Move it.
2. He likes your hair. If so, moving it will not help. Pull the covers over your head instead.
3. He thinks you're prey, and he's hunting you. Nothing you can do at that point but die nicely for him.
4. He thinks there will magically appear a nipple he can suckle, poking through your hair in the back of your head. After all, you do have eyes there, so why not?
5. He can't tell time. Teach him about clocks, and your problem may stop. Then again, it may not.
6. He's confused. There's nothing you can do about it, though. So prepare for 15 years' confusion and waking up with wet hair.

Other than that, I can't help you. I asked Simon for his imput, but he'd rather sleep inside my bathrobe while I wear it.

Best-
Michele

Try waking up with a cat lying ON your face, covering your nose and mouth. I like my bedroom cold when I sleep, cuz I sleep better; well my extra-furry, lovely long haired Snickers-cat likes to move from the foot of the bed (his normal spot) to my FACE around 4am. No kneading; he never kneads. But he surely likes to lay square on my face. The other night I awoke to a warm giant lying there on my face. Snicky started purring the minute I touched him. I think he liked the warmth of me exhaling, but it was trying to INHALE that was my problem!

I'm a bit luckier with Bijou. He suckles and kneads before we go to sleep. I have to keep his nails trimmed as he kneads his right paw on my neck and his left paw on the side of my face and suckles under my chin. One night he actually had one of his claws just inside my lip - ouch.

I have the same problem. My 5 month old kitten likes to "massage" my head in the middle of the night. What can I do????

I have a black fuzzy alarm clock. Every morning at 7 am I get pigeon coos and nuzzling on my elbow until there is enough room for kitty to jump up onto the bed and coo and lick my hands or whatever else is nearby. She does this until I attempt to cuddle her, at which point she promptly flees. I think sometimes I manage to sleep through it, but mostly it ruins my last hour and a half of sleep.

ROFL.. at least Im not alone! I think it's so sweet, but not when I've got a migraine.. lol Jason was also not impressed.. he starts with petting, and then he'll do the burrowing into my neck, and then happy feet on my skull..
eh well.. he's a kitten. It's cute.

I agree, trim the nail and enjoy the massages. I sure do. They can give a pretty darn good kitty paw massage and at the same time they are getting what they want"comfert" and you gwet a well deserved Massage.

Sash has always kneaded my hair. He stopped for awhile but
has just started doing it again now that it's colder. It does hurt sometimes, especially when he gets my neck. Ooch!

Willow loves to lick my hair, especially if she thinks I've overslept or if she wants me to lift the covers so she can snuggle (yes, my cat sleeps under the covers with me). She's actually helped me get to work on time after I overslept. She knows my schedule better than I do.
