Ming Loy (and some of the gang)

Ming Loy has turned out to be the sweetest, cutest - HAPPIEST cat! And THANK GOD Flowerbelle decided to be friends. Spooky's still having a problem with her, though she's showing it by peeing on the couch, not by hissing and hitting her.

But Ming Loy is about Flowerbelle's size now (which means she'll be larger then Flowerbelle) - but the two of them are just too cute together - Flowerbelle basically all white, and Ming Loy basically all black.

Ming Loy has built her front leg strength up, so we've been able to remove most of the pillows from everywhere. But when she gets going she uses both back legs at once, and man can she LEAP! We never thought about how noisy it would be to have a crippled kitty. And with her into chasing her tail, sumersaulting around chasing her shadow - it can be "thunk and thud" city around here at all hours of the night or morning, LOL!

Also, she loves to flop down on the floor and roll over on her back. She LOVES having her belly rubbed - a first for us.

Although this is when she was still very young, this is such a typical Ming Loy play position:

And she loves sleeping with the other kittes. She'll thunk her way up to them and just plop down on them. Shelly never seems to mind, though he'll make himself comfortable. Ming Loy doesn't seem to mind the foot in her face, lol!

Yeah - because her back legs don't work too well, and when she walks her hips really swing around, we're real glad Ming Loy has a tail, because she uses it like a rudder, LOL!

....and finally, I wanted to post a pic of Tuxedo. He is doing FABULOUS. His red blood cell count is normal, and we're down to 1 prednisone every other day. He is KING of this house, sooooooooooo playful, he loves pets and brushes now - he constantly hops up onto the bed or couch - or trots into the kitchen - just to say "hi" and see what's going on. Keeping an eye on his domain! His hair has even grown back in a little bit on his hip, belly and legs, so although it's still sparse, he doesn't look as patchy as he did a few months ago. He's put on weight (though Gary's brushing him in this pic you can't tell how full his neck is) - and he now weighs 11 pounds! WHAT A GOOD BOY!!!!

Ming Loy looks just like any other kitty - until you see her walking or running. When she walks, her hips sway from side to side - enough that she often falls "bump" on her rump. When she's totally awake and playing, she'll just get right back up and keep going. Though it's kind of funny when she first wakes up and tries to stretch - she really can't arch her back without tumbling over. SHE doesn't know anything's wrong with her, though she will often lean against things for stabilization. Our legs, the cabinets, a chair - or the other kitties. The boys don't mind, and I'm sure they understand she's not "normal." And while Flowerbelle loves to play with her, she doesn't like being a leaning post. Spooky thinks Ming Loy is attacking her or something, but thankfully Ming Loy has learned basically just to avoid Spooky.

And MA - we and the kitties LOVE the space! Every once in a while Tuxedo will chase the heck out of Spook - but it happens infrequently. Perhaps it's just for "old times sake?" LOL! Every single one of them LOVES it when we bounce toys down the stairs - and we've learned how to throw them down there just right so they bounce into the living room. Our gang thinks there's nothing more fun that running down the stairs to chase whatever it is - though Tuxedo is fabulous at jumping to catch whatever it is.

Ming Loy and Flowerbelle both fetch, which is just the cutest thing in the world!!!!!

(And if we miss the RV, it's on a pad just outside the garage, so it's just a few steps away..... )

Ooops - forgot to say - when she's tired and she flops over while walking, often she'll just stretch out and roll onto her back to wait for tummy rubs before getting up again. And when she runs, she's like a rabbit. She uses both back feet at the same time, and she launches herself up to four - five? - feet at a time. Now she has great control over where she's going. When she was younger, she didn't, which is why we had anything with a corner padded. We'd still have it padded if we needed it, but I must say, it's nice to not have bubble wrap, foam rubber and pillows EVERYWHERE, lol!

Laurie, Ming Loy is just adorable! And her uniqueness just makes her even more precious.
