Gibby's got furry feet.. should I trim around his pads so he's not playing slip and slide in the kitchen and bathroom??

Some kitties love to slip and slide, but if yours seems to be having a hard time you can carefully trim away the fur covering the paw pads.

Same for Samwise. Perhaps this is a trait of Turkish Vans?? Perhaps associated with their typical love of the water and swimming? I wouldn't be surprised to find they had duck feet.

I will drop a note to Samwise's breeder and see if she has any ideas. Will let you know if I get any feedback for Ghibli.

I think Samwise is cute the way he slides around our tile-floored kitlchen. Sometimes his endless energy just gets the best of him and he is a joy to watch. But not necessarily to pick up for.

Samwise's breeder says that most Vans do have furry feet.

The worst bother of Samwise's furry feet is that he tracks kitty litter out of the box more than any other cat we have had, and that is a bunch. We find ourselves vacuuming the carpet near the box several times a day.

We also find ourselves chuckling every time he comes in sight, so he is well worth the bother.

Cheers,

Ann
