I think that guy just had a variation on an original idea. The "Boyfriend Arm" pillow designed for the single girl in need of some manly comfort

I think it's funny. If it is just a pillow, not a 'toy' like what was mentioned in this thread, I don't see exactly how it would be gross. Unless the man using it had really gross intentions. I would hope that people would seek out another human rather then a pillow for companionship. Lonely or not, I don't see how a pillow in the shape of legs would really help the lonliness... then again... I'm not lonely. The boyfriend's arm pillow, that's pretty funny too... I wonder why the girl gets one arm and the boys get TWO legs?? And what's up with the PANTY lines??? Um... that part is kinda gross... Don't most girls try to hide panty lines? If guys like them, why hide them... LOL LOL J/K The picture they had of the old man using it... it almost reminded me of those form pillows that are supposed to help keep your back aligned.

I saw a story about it on CNN yesterday. The inventor said that his wife got sick of him always wanting to use her lap for his pillow, so he invented that. They said it is molded after a real woman....is she like 12? I have NEVER met a real woman that size! And I have known some pretty small women... In order to make up my lap, Earl would have to order 2...at least.

LOL, you make me laugh. I wonder if Japanese women are a lot smaller then American women? Someone once said that child pornography is legal there... Not sure if that is true or not, but if it is, maybe it WAS modled after a 12 yr old?

No way! I am not a piece of furniture -- I have never let anyonw fall asleep in my lap, unless he has whiskers and meows. I think if I saw some idjit sleeping on a lap pillow I would laugh until I peed.

Ok now, I think there must be something wrong with me, because quite frankly I see nothing wrong with this at all. For those of you who think it's "gross", don't you ever let your partner rest his head in your lap? If not, there's something wrong with the relationship, if you can't be that comfortable with eachother. Now, if you want gross, go have a flick through some of these sex toy websites and THEN you'll see what gross really is. When all's said and done, I think lonely people need something. If this is what people find comfort in, then why not? It's certainly better than them finding solace in a vaccuum cleaner. And that HAS been known to happen. I think this is a perfectly harmless thing - yes ok there are suckers born every minute, but hey whatcha gunna do? It's bette rthan them hiring prostitutes - at least you only have to pay once for these. I say let them get on with it!

I have to agree - who are they hurting? We were just having a discussion last evening during Biography when they reviewed the Janet Jackson mishap at the Superbowl (?). Our daughter who is 24, made a very good point - she said what would all those people do if they lived in Europe? We North Americans are just too uptight and prissy about everything. Personally I don't think our attitudes are all that healthy - we are too quick to judge something different as WRONG or BAD or STUPID. When did God give us the right to judge everyone else's actions?

It doesnt bother me. Jake rests his head on my lap and I rest my head on his lap sometimes. Nothing wrong with it. I have seen worse things. I think it is a matter of intimacy.

And as for the size - Asian women are a lot smaller than western women - there are a lot of Asians living in NZ and its very rare to see a bigger sized asian woman.

I agree, there are sites out there with way worse stuff. And I agree with Yosemite, some peoples attitudes are way too prissy, but I love the reactions people get when they get shocked at something like this.

Wow, there's something wrong with my relationship because my husband doesn't sleep on my lap? Good to know.

I don't think anyone said there is something morally wrong with these odd contraptions, but if you don't think they look somewhat humorous, perhaps you are being just a little uptight in your sense of humor?

Snert, talk about desperate.......hee hee hee....er, sorry, I guess I shouldn't laugh at someone who is so desperate for a woman that they will pay money for a fake "lap" to nap on. This doesn't offend me but it does make me feel rather bad for the men who would actually pay to get this....

I was just sitting there thinking that if one of those cushions stopped only ONE lonely person from committing suicide, they would truly be worthwhile. Not everyone has someone in their lives and for some people, especially this time of year, it causes severe loneliness and despair - enough to drive them to suicide. I don't want to walk a mile in their shoes and neither will I judge them if they find some comfort in a pillow the rest of us may think is silly.

Good point...I hadn't thought about it like that.

I will say, I can understand why the inventor invented it from what he said. Early in our relationship I think Earl did that, rested in my lap. It got old really fast. Why it's OK for Trent to sleep in my lap for hours, and not Earl I have no idea, but it got really annoying. So if that guy's wife is anything like me, or if he thinks he needs to nap in her lap a lot, I can see why she would get fed up with it pretty fast!
