So, after the wretched week last week, things started to look up. I woke up Sunday with a very positive attitude, ready to take on the world, or at least my finals and essays due this week. And then my computer promptly crashed. I'm back now, after completely wiping the hard drive, reinstalling everything, and making some nasty phone calls to my internet provider and computer manufacturer. Unfortunately, I now have Word, rather than Wordperfect, and so all my files on disks that I meticulously saved, are worthless.

But, its good to be back.

Anyone else ready for the vacation and festivities to begin???

I was just about to post a new thread when i came across yours. If it makes you feel any better....last night my computer decided to crash as well.
I was very concerned that i was going to lose 2 years worth of lesson plans and work related files. But fortunately i have a friend good with computers and he saved those files for me.

The sad news...the hard drive is DEAD.
My little laptop has bit the dust. I tried reinstalling windows and the computer froze. And I had to drop $700 on a new computer. Ugh. I am happy to get something brand new, but not happy abuot the money.

Anyways, I am currently using the boyfriend's computer. My new Dell probably won't arrive in the mail until next week. So it looks like my time on TCS will be limited.

Just wanted to let you know that you are the only one having the computer week from he**...

You should be able to get Word to read a lot of those WordPerfect files. They'll be translated, but not always accurately.

We're just waiting to move and then our festivities will begin.
