LOL.... great title huh?!

Well, we have the new sheltie puppy, Tess.. I posted a pic of her on the Fur Pics...
Uhm.. she is chasing her tail.
. i guess it is fun.. Shes the 1st dog we've ever had to do this.. so i dont know if there is something wrong w/ her or if shes just bored...
She just spent about 20 minutes laying on the floor, grabbing her tail.. and falling over then barking at her tail.. and grabbing it... now, she has wore herself completely out.. and is sleeping belly up....

Can you cut and paste the pic thread? I couldn't find Tess and I wanted to see a cute puppy (shhh - don't tell the cats).

It doesn't mean she is stupid, she is a working dog and she needs something to do. Take her for a walk, put her in obedience class, or give her a chore to do- shelties were bred originally to herd sheep. So no, she is not just being a puppy she is telling you in her doggy way that she needs something to do- her instincts drive her-

i dont think that Tess is stupid for chasing her tail.. i think its kind of cute, but it gets annoying that she keeps barking at it.. like its going to get away from her

here is a new pic of Tess for every1 to see her!

My adult dogs sometimes chase their tails and my puppies do it all the time [they are 15 weeks old] so when they do we take them outside for a game of something but it is cute watching them!

She is very cute:-).

I think puppies and tail chasing always go together:-) -after all, it is a built in toy - it moves, it fights back, it pulls itself away and it is almost just out of reach - what could be better fun?!

Lion who is going on three years old will sometimes go through a tail chasing fit on his cat tree. He obviously wants to play and everyone else is busy so he sees this 'prey' handing down from the box and when he reaches for it, it moves - so he chases it! It is hilarious to see him literally crawling in and out and over and around the cat tree and the shelf trying to catch his tail - and when he does, he gets it in his mouth and doesn't know what else to do- so lets it go so he can chase it again. Of course, he is chattering away to himself the whole time too! How wonderful that our animals can enjoy themselves so readily.

my sara chases her tail... that is very funny, me and my husband wonder if she thinks she is a dog, because this is not the only dog-like quality she posseses
