Well I got my shopping done, and I actually wrapped the presents in the same day. As I was wrapping the gifts, I had one cat lying on the paper, 'holding' it down for me. I had another cat chewing on the curling ribbon; or rather, 'cutting' it for me. The 'cutting' cat also liked to play in the discarded plastic from the rolls of wrapping paper; he took off with a bit of plastic and I had to hold him down while removing the stuff from his mouth!

The presents for my daughter, which of course are not from me, but from Santa, I hid in the garage. The presents for family and friends, sitting in a spare bedroom, later on became a bed for another one of my cats; a little angel named "Dusty" who perched her pretty lil self on top of my dad's present. Like a grey, furry bow.

Do you lock your cats out of your room while wrapping presents?

Or, let them share in the joy?

And on Christmas morning -- while unwrapping presents (or whenever you gift-give in your house), do the cats take such great interest in all that wonderful, crunchy, ripped up wrapping paper? To me, that's half the fun!

Of course they help! It takes 3 times as long, but, hey, they're my kids!
As a matter of fact, I think the little teeth marks in the paper show what an effort they made!
And on Christmas they get to play with the wrappers and all their toys. They got Steve (my BF) a big remote control car this year. I can just picture Steve and Oliver (oldest cat) playing with the car while Tripod is watching from the safe zone (back of the couch).

OMG!!! THAT is THE best part of wrapping presents, when there is a kitty around!!!!!! They crack me up mostly. But, there HAVE been a few times, I just HAD to put them in the basement, as they were just getting TOO enthused and were ruining EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

--I LOVE the unwrapping of the presents too, as kitties have SO much fun that day!

Hee hee! Here's some irony for you...

Trent loves being in the middle of wrapping and unwrapping presents. He's just that kind of very helpful kitty who has a fetish with ripping up paper (not eating it, just tearing it). So a couple years ago, I got the GRAND idea of loosely wrapping (no tape) the kitties' presents in tissue paper, the creme de la creme of tearing paper according to Trent's enthusiasm in helping me wrap other gifts with it. So we gave them the presents, including catnip toys, and.....nothing. They just looked at the presents like, "Is that it? Mom, are you on catnip? These aren't any good!"
Nope, I had to completely unwrap their kitty presents for them. They were only interested in the paper we took off of our own presents.

Wow, what great little helpers you had! I waited until my most "helpful" cat, Grace, was sound asleep before I started wrapping. The other two were not that interested - fortunately! But I must say that Mr. Mac LOVES ribbons and bows. That's why all of my gifts are naked!!

Rosie and Sophie were all over the gifts as well as the paper they were being
wrapped in that it's a wonder they didn't get mailed with them!

So for those i've sent pressies to, if your babies are sniffing all over them like a rash it's because they can smell my two!
