He got into a fight this morning with a gnarly feral I have been trying to capture for months. He already had a wound on him that was healing (courtesy of Tazzy girl) but this feral really got him and tore him up.
I saw it happening from a distance and the two cats were airborn it was so fierce. I grabbed an old blanket and went hot footing it over to them, tossed the blanket over them and the feral ran off. We scooped bailey up and ran him to the vet, he is out of surgery and resting comfortably and can come home later today.

This feral is a scruffy sickly looking tom with long black hair and spots of orange. I can get within arms reach of him that is all and he won't go in the trap. I really need to capture this guy and get him to the vet. He is beating the pound out of my barn cats-

Oh, no.
For him to need surgery after a fight it must have been really fierce! I hope he's feeling better soon.

I sure hope you can catch the aggressor soon, too.

Bailey, I am praying that you get better soon. You're lucky you have such an excellent mommy to take care of you.

He's home with 12 stitches and a bruised chest.
He's upstairs in confinement yowling his discontent to the world. Time to break out the ear plugs he has to be confined for 14 days. I hope he tires of yowling soon-

Poor baby...try the snug spot as a mat, heating up the insert, it will feel good to his bruised chest.

*wink* Welcome to MY world. I know you've heard Tonka howling to the blue heavens when we've been on the phone together. I declare I should have named that boy Honka...

I am sorry to hear of Bailey's injuries, though. But I am happy to hear he will soon be on the mend - and you know that I can't offer you any good input on trapping that feral boy because Lawdy knows YOU are THE person I call upon in such instances ... but I do offer you my support and encouragement with catching him. I know you will inevitably. Let's be hopeful it is sooner rather than later.

Hugs to you and gentle, commiserating chin-scritches to Bailey,

~gf~

All I can say is thank God for Snugglekittie! Bailey has his snuggles now upstairs with the heating pad and mechanical heart going, and the house is blessedly quiet.

oh my!!! I missed this because of our storm and no power. I am sorry to learn of this, MA. We certainly have our little guys beat up this week.
I'm so sorry. I'm glad to hear the heating pad has worked some magic, too, Sasha loves his little ones. Is there ever a dull moment down there? And so stressful for Bailey as he just got through with Taz most gracious love bite. What a day you must've had.
Have you thought of trapping cages for the feral? I'm not sure if I saw that in an earlier post in the thread. But then again, as I write this I'm thinking of the others getting caught instead. Maybe not.

I have tried to trap him instead I have trapped two possums, three racoons a skunk and Cleo- this feral will have to trust me enough that I can grab him up. Once I do his wandering days will be over- snip snip snip
