Okay!! Before I really freak anyone out here.... there is NO baby in the crib yet. In fact there won't be a baby until December! But we just got our crib a few weeks ago and Chloe didn't touch it when it first went up. But now, I came home once to find her laying it and she keeps sneaking up there every chance she gets to take her naps there. When my husband or I catch her we take her out and tell her NO. She has rarely even slept in our bed this past week, opting for her "new bed" (I guess because it sits the highest in the house and she likes that?!) And there's not the option to close the door at nights or during the day because we don't want her to scratch at the carpet trying to get in (which she has done once before). We just don't want her to get used to sleeping here since we'll soon be putting a little baby in there! Suggestions?

Maybe try putting foil in the bed of the crib. Cats don't like it so she should get the picture pretty quick that it's a place she doesn't want to be. I wouldn't spray the bitter apple since there will be a baby in there eventually and the double sided tape might get a little messy.

You can also start spraying the room with a citrus scented air freshener. Cat's hate the smell of citrus, and will usually avoid it if they can.

Stack empty soft drink cans on the bed. When the cat jumps up the cans will fall and make an awful noise. This will keep your kitty out of the crib!

My cat did this until the baby came. The baby was sleeping in the crib, the cat got in to take her nap and didn't stay when she found the baby. She didn't get in the crib anymore. I just made sure there were clean sheets in the crib before I put the baby in!
