I'm Soooo Excited

Today, (being Saturday) we let Mika and Bijou spend the day together. There were a couple of rough spots, but usually if Bijou got too close to Mika's incision.

Around 5 pm Bijou lay down in his favourite spot and Mika joined him. He gave her a good bath (hee, hee). They then cuddled in and went to sleep together. After about an hour, Bijou decided he preferred the lazy-boy chair. Mika stayed in his other spot. I went over and cuddled Bijou and kissed his beautiful face and rubbed my face on his jaw. Mika watched and decided she wanted some too. She came over and lay down with Bijou and I had to kiss her and rub my face against her neck and jaw too. Bijou licked my face and they both settled down and went to sleep. Now at 7 pm our time, I'm downstairs at the computer and I just heard them get up.

I suppose I should go up and chaperone just in case they are ready for rough play.

But folks, this is the relationship we were hoping they would establish. My heart flies when I see those two beautiful cats together. They look so much alike that sometimes I have to look twice to see which one it is. When Mika gets larger, I'm sure the pink collar will be the only way to tell them apart! Not really, LOL, Bijou has a larger face and Mika is a tad bit more delicate.

Anyway, I'm thrilled to bits with this turn of events and just had to share with all you wonderful cat lovers.

That's great news. I know exactly how you are feeling. About 1.5 months ago, I introduced my new kitten Izzie to Charlotte. At first things were a little rough, but I was so delighted when they started playing together and getting along in general. Congratulations.

How wonderful. I know that things were really touch and go there for awhile. I hope that when we bring jasper's "little sister" home, that this is what happens since we are getting another kitten for "him", not ourselves.

Oops, maybe I "spoke" too soon. It sounds like a hoard of elephants are running through the house upstairs! No screams so far so I guess they are sorting it out.

I'll get DH to download the pictures I took tonight and try to get them up on photobucket.

That's great news!!

I guess Bijou won't be complaining about Mika too much anymore in his letters to Jasper?

They are probably playing. Chaising each other and that sort of stuff.
One runs after another.
It's normal.

Herd of elephants? Oh, that's OK -- and tussles, even with growling -- as long as nobody draws blood, you're fine. They're both youngsters -- and will likely play pretty vigourously. It sounds as if you're on your way!

I'm an over-protective grandma. With Mika recently being spayed, I worry about her getting hurt. She is so much tinier than Bijou. I must say though, we are very impressed with Bijou. He really listens and stops wrestling with her if we say "No, Bijou". He'll just sit there and look at us so innocently.

I laughed on Saturday night, Mika took his beanie baby in her mouth (she could hardly see around it) and kept prancing in and out of the bedroom to the living room to try to get Bijou's attention. Once she had his attention she pranced in front of him and then ran over to the cat tree and dropped the beanie baby. She is such a little tease.
