Today, (being Saturday) we let Mika and Bijou spend the day together. There were a couple of rough spots, but usually if Bijou got too close to Mika's incision.
Around 5 pm Bijou lay down in his favourite spot and Mika joined him. He gave her a good bath (hee, hee). They then cuddled in and went to sleep together. After about an hour, Bijou decided he preferred the lazy-boy chair. Mika stayed in his other spot. I went over and cuddled Bijou and kissed his beautiful face and rubbed my face on his jaw. Mika watched and decided she wanted some too. She came over and lay down with Bijou and I had to kiss her and rub my face against her neck and jaw too. Bijou licked my face and they both settled down and went to sleep. Now at 7 pm our time, I'm downstairs at the computer and I just heard them get up.
I suppose I should go up and chaperone just in case they are ready for rough play.
But folks, this is the relationship we were hoping they would establish. My heart flies when I see those two beautiful cats together. They look so much alike that sometimes I have to look twice to see which one it is. When Mika gets larger, I'm sure the pink collar will be the only way to tell them apart! Not really, LOL, Bijou has a larger face and Mika is a tad bit more delicate.
Anyway, I'm thrilled to bits with this turn of events and just had to share with all you wonderful cat lovers.
