Some Like It Hot is great. It was filmed down here in San Diego at the Hotel Del Coronado (or as we call it, the Hotel Del).

Have you seen Buster Keaton in Our Hospitality? I think that has to be one of the funniest movies ever made!!

That is a useless cause.

I need to see Buster Keaton movies. I've always wanted to, but really don't remember watching any

Oooh thanks for that - you've just settled a debate between hubby and me. I feel very smug now
. He was saying it was east coast. But I remembered from when we were planning a trip on the west coast one time I'd looked at the Del Coronado as a possible hotel and was insistent that SLIH was filmed there!! We didn't get to San Diego - it would have been too far with everything else we were doing.

I've just told hubby
.

I love old B/W ,ovies--er movies. I;m trying to type around Faile, who is sleeping on part of my keyboard. Some of my favorites: Casablance, To Kill a Mockingbird, High Noon, The Maltese Falcon, pretty much anything with Humphrey Bogart or Gregory Peck. I also loved the Philadelphia Story and Bringing up Baby, botjh starred Katherine Hepburn.

Bringing up Baby is a great one!
I'm partial to the screwball comedies! Casablanca is one of my faves though, too.

Yeah, Sheila. Thanks for reminding me. I forgot about your deprived childhood.

Better than The General? I'll look into it... he's great. Better than Charlie Chaplin, who depresses me!

I agree. I don't particularly like Chaplin. But I DO like Harold Lloyd. His movies are very hard to find, however.

Oh Casablanca is definitely one of my favorites. Also Angels with Dirty Faces, anyone seen that one? And Heaven Knows Mr. Alison, but I think that one might be in color, I can't completely remember.
