Cell Phone Telemarketers - Please Read!!!

See info below about blocking your cell phone from telemarketers.

In a few weeks cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. Call this number from your cell phone 888-382-1222. It is the national Do Not Call list. It blocks your number for 5 years. Please pass this on to all those you know.

A cell phone directory is being created (although there is debate whether is this true or not) but any calls you receive would be illegal since marketers are still not allowed to call. Some phone companies such as Verizon will not release its phone numbers to the directory so perhaps it is time to change a plan?

Hmmm I just heard on local news that it is a myth and there is no list being formed.

Cougar is right - this is an Internet myth. Telemarketers are prohibited by law, from calling cellphones. As for the national directory, you have to agree to be included. if you say "no" or simply ignore the request, you will be left out of it.

I just registered my cell phone with the national Do Not Call list... haven't gotten a telemarketer call from it ever.

We have a telephone and address preference list here in the UK that you sign to and they remove your address and number from these lists so they cant send junk mail or have what we call the telesales people as "cold callers".

I've been on this list for the last 5 years and its great. I have to renew it every year but its worth it!.

OMG If I get one of those calls on my phone there will be one less cell phone in this world, I would run over it with my car
I hate those kinds of calls. Thanks for posting that number I sure will have my number blocked on that Do Not call list.

I received a voice mail just this week on my cell phone from a telemarketer. I called them back to officially inform them that this was a cellular phone and to remove the number from their database.

Yep, I've been on these lists for 2 years - I think they're great!!! No more cold callers for me.
