Have you tried to go into the start window and run system restore out of the help window? Click start, help and support, system restore, that will restore your computer to an earlier date before it crashed and hopefully fix the problem....good luck.

Sounds like you got the same virus DH got at one time. We had to reinstall Windows to fix the problem and get different virus programs. The one that fixed the problem DH had was Adaware, which technically isn't a virus program, but it did fix the issue after we reinstalled Windows.

Great, glad I could help. System restore has saved my bacon a few times now, hee hee. I am getting ready to get DSL (today supposedly) and am hoping that I don't have any problems...sigh... but it sure will beat the ol dial up with the blazing speed of 26.4 kbps!!!!!!!! I have gotten into the habit of trying to make at LEAST one restore point a week, more if I remember, am adding new hardware or software, or have to install a large new windows/virus update....
