Ok, so i'm one of those fussy people who kinda decorates the tree a zillion times before im satisfied....so there I was this year doing the same thing, oblivious to the fact I have two babies now.
I was quite impressed (my husband quite fed up
) so I made a coffee, and sat down to admire my masterpiece when the tree started shaking! There was Minx playing with a hanging bauble, how sweet I thought, i'll have to take some pictures. So I come to the computer to fetch the webcam, when I turn back round Minx is up the tree! right buried deep in the branches! I managed to get her out, but now she does it all the time, and has even taught Indie how to get up!
My tree looks like something that should be thrown out now! She was even asleep on a branch last night!
I thought it was sweet, but i'm worried about the lights to be honest, so any suggestions for keeping out the tree would be welcomed

aww! I have no clue how to keep them out other than maybe get a water bottle and squirt them when they go to get near it.

You might try spraying the tree with a cat repellant like they carry at petco, etc. but be sure the kittens aren't in the tree when you spray, or putting tape sticky side up underneth......good luck, I bought a small artificial 3 foot tree this year and put it on top of my television console where Jasper can't reach...

Yes i'm one of those!. It takes me at least 2 hours to dress the tree then i'm still messing on with it everytime i pass it!.

Thats the reason why i've only put garlands and tinsel up this year because Rosie climbed it last year and the year before so i know for certain that Sophie will do the same!

I wish you had took the "after" picture of the tree though!

This is just the bottom bit, as she jumped out earlier...you might not be able to see it in this pic, but I have bald patches, everything is lop-sided, but the real effect can't be caught on camera.

I gave them some tinsel and baubles, hoping they wouldn't go near the tree anymore, great idea that was!
I've had to move the presents too, Indie likes the bows :S actually he likes anything feminine

Ha ha! Baylee likes feminine things... plays with all the pink mice. That's how we first got the hint that maybe she was a girl... not that I'm implying anything about Indie!

Maybe it was a hint that she wanted you to brush her teeth? Lol...

Rosie for some reason loves the taste of mint!. She's actually stole gum from my bag several times and licked them to bits, so now i have to make sure my bag is zipped up at home.

If theres one thing she hates though its if i've brushed by teeth, or i've been sucking on a mint and blew the vapours towards her, and she normally screws up her eyes and bops my hand as if to say " Don't do that! ".

Last night i forgot after i had brushed my teeth!. She was sitting on the end of the sofa where i was and i started talking to her when her eyes screwed up and she bopped me on the nose only she also caught me with her claw!

So now this morning i have a scratch on the front of my nose about 1/2" long!.

Thank goodness for makeup

I've heard it's bad for them, thats why i've put it up out of their reach, especially with Sophie still being little because she's into everything!

Your tree is so funny, Ashleigh!
Yes, tinsel can be extremely harmful for kitties, and it should be kept out of their reach.

Poor nose, Susan! Sierra likes peppermint, too. I have a little bottle of oil of peppermint and she will get it and rub all over it and roll all over the place around it!

Ashleigh, your tree looks rather like my parents last year! I had spent ages on it too only to find both kits inside!!

I have heard that lemon flavoured car freshners hanging at the bottom help prevent cats from climbing it (they don't like the smell!!) Sprigs of Rosemary helped me a little bit last year too!

Susan, your poor nose! I hope it didn't hurt too much!!
