I believe. Apparently we have ghosts in my apartment building. Several people who live here have told me about the Ghost Lady who haunts the elevator in my building. Thank goodness I don't have to ride it to get to my apartment. But they say she grabs at them, and they feel her ghostly hands, when she does.

I love those kinds of stories... I so want to be on a paranormal investigation. The proper thing where you get all the sceptics in as well and people who can explain things rationally. I agree CoolCat - everyone is entitled to have their say
it's nice to see different opinions on here. And you know what's nicer? Being able to express those opinions and not stir up fights. I've seen so many people fall out simply because they don't appreciate or respect another persons beliefs or opinions. It's really something to see that no matter how similar or different we are, we all respect one another and our ideas
I think that says a lot for this community, don't you? Whether you believe or don't believe, or if ghosts are real or not... I like ot think that there will always be *something* that science can't explain. If science could explain everything, the world would become a really boring place, really quickly. Where's the fun without a mystery eh?

I believe because of some experiences my sister and I have had, but orb pictures don't impress me that much. The ones with images or plasma are much more impressive to me. I don't usually have a camera with me when I have my experiences and I'm often too darned scared to do anything but ask the ghost to leave. I've tried to get ghost pics, but haven't succeeded.

Is there a mirror in the room? If there is, that can also explain the orb.

I belive it all. A year ago I was in a stage of my life were i never belived in God. Well one night i was laying in bed and well out of now where a black streak went across my tv. Trust me nothing could have made it . THe Tv had light shinning on it from out side and this was no ordonary shadow. I slept on the couch for a week after that. Then I could swear I was being followed by that same shadow. well all stopped when I got saved.

I can hardly see it. Even in the close up. To me it looks like a smudge on the lens.

I definitely believe. I've done some "investigating" on my own, and have caught something (dunno what) at the cemetary. I've also tried my hand at EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena), but haven't had any success. Granted, I've not tried too hard, either, but still.

I have absolutely no doubt that there is another, unseen most often, realm that we experience on a very subconscious level, and occasionally on a conscious level, as well. What it is, and why it occurs, is not something I know how to explain.

And no, I'm not in the least scared of supernatural beings.

I believe! The supernatural is either scarey or comforting--depending on which kind you run into.
I know I've been scared and comforted both, so...

I've went into places before and felt 'creeped' out. That was scarey supernatural that I couldn't see, but I could feel. I've also been comforted many times by a 'sweet' presence--a comforting supernatural. Both are very real.

Sometimes, people get a glimpse into the unseen realm. I personally am not gifted to do that, but I've known people who were.

Wow, I never knew this would get so much reaction. Yes, it is good to see the differences in opinion. As for this "orb" or whatever you want to call it, here are a few things that it is not. It isn't dust, dirt, glitter, water or a smudge. All my cameras are kept very clean and are never left lying around and a dust cap is always on the lens until ready to use. If it was dust on the lens, this thing, what ever it is, would have been in the following pictures. Since this picture was taken with a digital camera, it could very well have something to do with the imaging device, not the lens. It would have been better if I cought this on film, since the image would not have been produced electronically. As for the cats reacting, well, I don't believe so, unless the "ghost" was something the cats felt would harm them. As for the explanation of "orbs", I do believe they are part of the supernatural or "spirit world", but I am not an expert on them. As for believing, yes, I do. I have so many stories, I could keep everyone up here reading for days. I have lived with these strange things for so long, that I almost no longer notice them any more. I lived in the house ever since I was 11. But, when my at the time girlfriend, moved in with me, she is now my wife
she called me at work in the middle of the night scared. She said, John, there is someone in the house!!
I said, what do you mean? She said, I could hear them walking in the living room. I then told her, well, you really should be calling the police, but in this case, they would not find anyone there. Well, at 3am, I had to explain to her what she was hearing. Not something I wanted to do since she was home alone. Well, there was no "person" in the house, but there was something, because the cats heard it too. When I was living there as a kid, my older sister used to work at a doctor's office. The previous owners used to go to this doctor for their care. One day, they noticed my sister's name and said hey, you are the people that live in our old house. They asked her, do you ever see the ghosts in that house? Well as a kid, with the whole family there, you would hear or see things, but most of the time you just brushed it off as another family member doing something. But, when you live there alone and hear and see the same things, you know it wasn't your family any more. I have other stories, if anyone wants to hear them, including hearing strange voices on my "ham" radio equipment (this is a long one that would need a lot of technical explanation), other people on the recieving end of my radio signal hearing someone other than me, my mom seeing things, someone touching me, someone or something yelling my name and the best one, is the time I brought a girl over, who I was dating at the time to meet my mom. I looked at her and she had these huge goose bumps on her arms. I asked, are you cold? She said, don't you feel that? I said feel what? She said, that real cold air, I feel it on my arms! I said, no, I don't feel anything and I was sitting next to her. She wanted to know where the cold air return for our furnace was. I said, there is none. Our house did not have forced air heat, it used hot water and had heated floors. Well, that was 24 years ago and I ran into her last year in a mall around Christmas time. She is married and has a daughter. You know what she told her daughter? She said, that is the guy who lives in that haunted house I was telling you about and the one we drive by all the time. She still gets goose bumps on her arms when we talk about that day. I moved out of that house a month ago and I wonder if anything hitched a ride here with us
I almost forgot, I knew a girl a few years back who is a self proclaimed psychic, the things she did made my head spin, but to much to explain here. She also practiced witch craft. She told me, there were more that one spirit in that house. She told me she could communicate with them and said we could try one day. So I said ok, not sure if this girl was well, all with it
Well, the day came and we were all set up to contact the spirit world. The next thing I know, she sort of freaked out and said no, we will not do this. I said why not, it is just all in fun. I really didn't think she would actually talk to or make contact with anything. She said, I do feel a "good and friendly" spirit here, but there is something else. I said what? She just said, something you don't want to know. No matter how much I begged her to go on, she wouldn't. She just said, lets just leave it at that. I never knew what to make of that. I have been thinking about trying to contact her again. Since I no longer live there and the house is not sold yet, I want to know...what is there and leave it for the new people who buy the house

I used to have a friend who lived in a "haunted" house. I only ever put the word in inverted commas because I don't like the word much. It's a pretty woolly definition I think. That aside... I had many wierd and wonderful experiences in there. You would hear all sorts of strange noises... footsteps upstairs when you knew there was nothing up there to make the noise, rustling papers - then we'd check for draughts and where the cats were... and we'd always find nothing. They went so far as to have all the pipes checked to see if it was them making the noise of the footsteps. Still nothing. But there was one room I simply couldn't go into. NO matter how much they tried to bribe me or bodily force me, I would stop dead in the doorway. It was like a pane of glass was over the door. that's what it felt like for me, anyway. One day though, they caught me off-guard as I was walking past that doorway - I was always wary of it, but you had to go past it to get to the bathroom - I used to take that hallway at a run
Well, my friend and her sister jumped out at me from behind the opposite doorway and knocked me into the room. They shut the door behind me. I just remember screaming to get out and having problems breathing. Now, I've never been prone to panic attacks, I'm not easily shaken. I don't remember anything after that. Apparently, I was nonsensical for a good half hour after they let me out. They had to lift me out because I was sobbing and shaky. The only word they could get to make any sense was the name "Sarah" - and something about a toy. It didn't mean anything to any of us... and they all thought I was just uber freaked. But after that, We thought nothing more of it - until a little red handprint appeared in the middle of the mother's back. It was far too small to have been made by anyone, quite apart form the fact that we were all in the adjacent room when the incident happened. D came through looking a bit freaked and asked who had touched her back. Of course we all though that she was pulling our leg until she said that her back was hot... she lifted her shirt and there it was. One red right-hand print. By this time we all knew that SOMETHING was going on, so I went to look up the history of the house. I found that in the early 1900's, a little girl died in that house from TB. Her name was Sarah.

I have had all sorts of experiences like this - I predicted my grandfather's death - not a particularly nice thing. I just had a gut feeling that on the 1st of January 1996 thta that was the last time I'd ever see him. It was. He died on the 3rd. Funny thing was though that he seemed to have picked up on that feeling. He looked at me form over the garden gate and nodded. It didn't mean anything to me at the time... because I'd not said anything about anything. Just a kind of connection.

My dreams predicted the Iraq war - all oil drums and a black helicopter that didn't make any noise... and the best bit - the really vivid bit... crawling up a river of blood (warm, sticky over shifting dry sand and grit) and finding a silver dog-tag with U.S.A.F. on it. I don't know what part the U.S.A.F. had in the war, if any, but that's what i saw.

Ok, so my family and friends call my mind "cross-wired" - and I've spoken to a "something" in the house to let my son sleep all night for once (which worked bizzarely enough, after stating that I knew "it" was there but we all had to live together in the same house).

I believe there's something in it.... but John, I really don't see anything in that picture at all. D'you think maybe it's too dark? Because I just see two cats against a black headboard and I'm convinced that they'd react in some way - by staring at a fixed spot or something - they'd at least be looking up. They do seem to have a way of picking up on things that aren't there in a physical sense, and they seem to distinguish between the physical and ethereal with a slight shift in behaviour. I just see two normal, sleepy cats. Sorry

I would like to have seen that old house of yours though - that sounds real interesting! Sounds like you had some fine times in there alright!! That old house of my friends, that was always cold in that one room. Happy hunting though!!

I think that there are indeed some photographs, or other types of capture media, where these phenomena are truly unexplainable; however I also believe that a real "orb" is a rarity.

Quite interesting concept nonetheless

In my photography classes I was known for having them show up. Until I realized I was a dork and it was becuase I had dust on the negatives. However, I do think it is highly possible it is real. Those ones are just very rare.

That story gave me the chills... I've never experienced anything like that but it'd be kinda cool, if not totally freaky!

No one believes me but when we were young my brother and I used to see a black cat in or bathroom and hall. The spooky thing is we didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t see it after we got our bathroom renovated but my kitten, herself the same sort of witchy looking black cat can always be found sitting in the ghost cats favourite spots.

And sometimes when I feel the hairs on the back of my neck prickle or get the feeling that Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m being watched the kitten will be all tense and staring at the same spot.

Spooky!

By the way, forgot to mention that my hose is built really near to and maybe even on a grave yard. When my dad dg up the garden to do some planting he fond a grave stone. To this day he wont tell me what it said on it. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a true story because several neighbours have told me it too.

Knowing my dad Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m probably named after the grave stone thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s why he wont tell me!

Hmmm, you don't see it at all? You may need to turn the brightness up on your monitor. The headboard is brown, not black. Now wouldn't that be wierd if only certain people could see it

Ah yes, I see it now! I thought I had the brightness turned right up, but I think my son has been playing with the controls again
It still doesn't really look all that spectacular though to be honest. I've got something caught on film that's a lot brigther than this - if you like I'll try and get it scanned for you (this is the real pain of not having a working scanner at home though) - and I'll get it posted. It's also perfectly circular. Things like this are very easily explained as light reflecting off airborne dust or water droplets. Light reflected off such objects will looks like the perfect circle regardless of the shape of the dust or water yadda yadda... The circle is nature's creation after all. Have you ever seen reflected light flare as a square? Even a camera flash doesn't do that. I still think that orbs are incredibly dodgy things to state as being supernatural, because there are so many explainations. You said that you kept your cameras very clean... well that's as maybe, but the cause doesn't have to be on the lens. i'll see.... if you go to www.ghoststudy.com, they have a gallery of all sorts of creepy photographs - and several orbs too. There's an unbelieveably pretty one of a graveyard in the daylight, and it is just choked with orbs. What caused that? Water droplets in fog. Very pretty, but very normal. Even the one that I have, I'm putting down to water in the air (how can you not put it down to that when you're livingin Scotland - there's ALWAYS water in the air here - it's called rain
) You know that they've even come to the conclusion that skin flakes can cause this effect too?

Well I was just going thru pictures this morning that have been waiting to be resized, etc and here's what I got.

Living room pics I was taking for my best friend who wants to see the inside of my house. There are two "spots" one by the chair and also one by the window behind it.

This one was taken just because.

And this is the leaning Christmas tree which I have yet to get exactly straight!
Up to the right of the top of the tree there is some smokey looking thing going on.

The last one is easy to explain. It's technical support from the 'real' angels. They're holding up the tree (and angel topper), so neither topples.

Abby, my friend has several pictures of white cloud, swirly things around her oldest son. It's odd, really. Who can say?

Well, as for me, I'm not really a believer, but then again, I have to wonder.....
