Charcoal,

A polydactyl is a cat with multiple toes. Prowler has 21 toes total, some cats have less, and other polys have more. I have had a few polydactyls and they are always a delight and very intelligent.

I'm still waiting for my first poly kitten - about 150 kittens and none so far. I was pretty happy when I had my first 'stumpy' kitten. Not sure if poly's are rarer Down Under or not.

Aw so cute! Definitely looks like they have mittens on! Does it make it easier for them to do stuff or harder, considering their extra toes?

Ah thanks. No wonder I couldnt find it.. I was searching for 'Polydactyl' not 'Polys' lol.

When Zoey plays I find that it is much easier for her to grab the toys right out of my hands with her big fat oven mitts

Whoa! Cats with thumbs! I didn't know that was possible. We better watch out. With the attitude and intelligence that kitties have, I figured it was only their lack of thumbs that was keeping them from taking over the world. But now...

My old Kitty was a poly. I learned some stuff about it. What it is basically is a mutant break down that causes it. It really doesn't affect them but in Kittys case she had fingers between her fingers and the claw impacted and she had some pain from it so we had it removed. She had a son named Charlie and he had a full extra paw on each foot.
Interesting fact is that this is more common in the eastern part of North America (Canada in particular) then anywhere else in the world. Love the pics

I have heard about some of the toes not growing right and having problems. But OMG @ a full extra paw???

Zoey actually has a small toe in between the 'thumb' and the rest of the toes.. its like a half of a toe lol.. you can see it in the first pic, but luckily her toes do not cause her any problems. I love them actually and must kiss them all the time
