Good to hear Boris is back to his old self, must have just been feeling displaced back there... poor boy. Your daddy loves you Boris, now pose pretty and get daddy to take more photos of you and all your feline pals!

Aww I am glad to hear Boris is starting to play with Carmella. I knew he would smarten up soon and realize he is still the most hansom of your cats. Give them all a big hug for me.

They also get the giblets, gizzards and chicken livers once per week. I have given them venison, turkey and beef as a treat. All these raw meats are supplemented with vitamins designed for wild felines. You can also give them rabbit, pheasant and feeder mice/rats that you can buy frozen from most pet food stores. The good thing about the mice/rats is that you do not need any vitamin supplement on them, because they are "whole prey". However, you can not give them a diet of just mice and rats. These are usually given as treats once a week or so.

I was away from TCS for the month of August, and pretty busy with school the past three weeks, so I'm just getting caught up here. Wow! Nakoma is looking much better, and Carmella is simply irresistible. Some of my students lurk here for the express purpose of seeing pictures of Amber, Boris, and Co., and they're never bored with new photos or stories. Neither am I! The enclosure and its perimeter look really good.
You might be right about soon having to raise your own chickens. I suppose the cats would pluck them themselves, at least sparing you that job. Are you still giving them Eukanuba, too? Have you tried Serengeti? It's formulated for big zoo cats, and is sold in huge bags. Our little "wild" cats love it. There's a supplier here who will "break down" the big bags and sell you 3 - 5 lbs., so Jamie and ZsaZsa get treated to it fairly often. http://www.timberwolforganics.com/cg...f=herbal_felid

Hello all
Yes, I have a few more pictures. It is so hard to get good pictures of Carmella, unless she is sleeping. While she is awake, all she wants to do is play, play, play and more play. Along with that play, comes biting, chewing and yes, claws. None of this is out of aggression, it's just part of cat play. But, these cats play hard. So, it is a constant battle to "redirect" her to biting and chewing on her toys and not your hands, arms, legs, feet and head. She is getting much better. I can pet her about 10 strokes before she will try to chew on my arm. That is very good, because before, one touch and she was trying to chew on you. All the while I am petting her, I talk to her in a calm voice telling her how good she is. As soon as she turns from her toy and goes for my arm, I put the toy back in her mouth to chew on. In fact, she tried to chew on my leg the other day and when I said no, she turned and got her toy. She loves to groom my head too. In fact, she will groom it so much, that my hair will be soaked with cougar spit
But, you can only take so much of this. You know how rough a regular cats tongue is, Carmella's tongue feels like 40 grit course sand paper!! But, how can you resist this affection when you hear those LOUD cougar purrs
Well, here are a few pictures of the gang. I am off today and tomorrow, so I will try to get some good ones.
Here, Carmella chews on her rope toy, after being redirected to it.

And....she liked the pillow too

Ahhh, all is peaceful now

Here is Amber in her new winter coat. As you can see, she lost most of her orange now.

Close up of Boris shows his brown color as well.

Nakoma too is changing. You can see the longer hairs around his face and body.

Your animals are absolutely gorgeous! I sat here for several hours one day to go through and show my bf all the great pictures! I'm pretty new to the site and I'm sure this has been talked about, but how long have you been raisin bobcats and cougars? It sounds like a wonderful, if challeging, life!

John I can not get over how much Nakoma has changed. He looks so good.
It looks like his forever home is very much to his liking.

Sounds like Carmella and Aristotle would get along. He likes to run through the house and attach himself to my arm/hand. Not that much different from Foghorn Leghorn and that weasel?
I redirect with a toy but there are times I'm not successful.

Oh, well. Just have to keep the antiseptic handy.
