I will post more pics as soon as I can. The "sting" incident with Boris set me back a bit. We were also contacted about another possible adoption. Hmmmm.....

It's funny you should ask this. I was just about to post a few more pictures. I haven't taken many new ones as of late, but I wll be on vacation soon and will try to get some really good ones then.
Amber says, Boris I love you. Let me kiss your head over and over

Boris getting sleepy after all those kisses.

Boris not looking so happy here. He was still sick in the picture

Aurora! YOu are just as beautiful as your bobcat cousins!

Around our house when a head got licked, it meant someone's head was in the way when food was put down (gravy drips) or it was a prelude to being play-bit!

I love those paws! I could kiss them! (Then again, I have a fetish for kitty feet.
)

Thank you, John!

John, I was comparing pictures of Nokama before he came to live with you and the more recent ones of him in his house and is it just me or is his coat looking better and better. He looked a little ruff at the begining and now just looks healthier.
By the way, my co-worker and I are never bored with your pictures and your stories about your gang.
Keep them coming!

Yes, his coat does look better for 2 reasons. With some of the earlier pictures, he was losing his winter "brown/grey" coat and beginning to get his "orange" summer coat. Yes, bobcats change color during the winter and summer seasons. The second reason is his diet. The lady who rescued him in New York did very well with him, but the abusive owners fed him lots of HOT DOGS!!! Hardly a diet for ANY cat let alone a cat such as this. However, he now gets a high quality exotic feline vitamin supplement on all his food, as do Amber and Boris. This has really brought him up to where he should be. A big beautiful bobcat boy

I can never get enough of your feline family. Amber and Boris are so sweet and so beautiful. I could kidnap (or should I say catnap) Aurora and keep her for myself! She's so expressive! And Nakoma... OMG! HE is SOOOO stunning. I love that boy.

Gorgeous, as always, John! Aurora is a beaut, and what cattitude!
Nakoma is looking wonderful.
Great to see Boris looking better again, too -- like Jan I have a thing about kitty paws, and those great mitts of theirs are soooooooo wonderful!

I love their feet as well. Pixie Bobs have pretty big feet and since Aurora is polydactyl on all 4 feet, with 2 extra toes on each front foot, she looks like she has big mittens
Of course, the bobcats have huge feet, especially Boris and Nakoma. Boris' back feet are as wide as my hand and they have big toes

I was wondering why Nakoma looks so much different than Amber and Boris. His colour is a LOT different, for one thing, and he seems to have a lot longer hair around his mouth and chin than Amber and Boris. Is it because his type of Bob Cat originated in a different area?

Yes, bobcats do vary in their appearance and size, depending on what part of the country they come from. In the south, Bobcats tend to be smaller and even more spotted. These cats may get to about 20 pounds. However, in the Northwest and far northern states, bobcats are much larger and their spotting tends to be more muted. I would imagine this has something to do with the fact that the northern bobcats live close to the territories of the Canadian Lynx. They would need to be larger to compete for food. These northwest and northern bobcats can get quite large. Males have been known to hit 70 pounds. Amber, Boris and Nakoma are Northwestern Bobcats. Both Amber and Boris' dad were quite large at 60 and 70 pounds. Cougars are the same way. The southern cougar, like the ones that live in Florida who are also known as the Florida panther, are relatively small compared to the northwestern cougars. The Florida panther females average about 70 pounds or so and the males a little over 100 pounds. However, the northwestern females may be over 150 pounds and the males over 200 pounds. Our friend has a male northwestern cougar who weighs 250 pounds, but he is a little on the "heavy" side. Shhhh, don't tell our friend I said that
Nakoma has less spotting and has longer facial hair, because he is more mature at 3 years. Amber and especially Boris are much younger, so they still have more spots. Cougars have spots when they are young, but lose them as they get older. I doubt Amber will get much bigger than she is now, maybe 30 pounds max (Females are smaller) She is a petite girl or just didn't hit that final growth stage yet. However, Boris is becoming one heavy boy and you can see that he is still growing and has about another year to go. He may get larger than Nakoma, who is approx 45 pounds.

I was just thinking I hadn't had a bobcat fix in a while, but you posted new pics while I was away.

The one of Amber and Boris is just precious. I am also a big fan of Aurora's paws!
