We just got an 11 week old kitten and are introducing her to our 9 month old sister kittens. The kitten is growling and hissing whenever the others try to come near to check her out. WHat do I do?

Just let them be. They will come to each others terms. I do have a suggestion. Since you have three cats (2 sisters and a kitten), take 3 clean towels and rub each cat in its own towel and then switch towels and rub each cat in each towel. This way they get each others smells on them. Example: Red towel to kitten, blue towel to sister 1, white towel to sister 2, rub red towel on sister 1 and 2, blue towel on kitten and sister 2 and white towel on kitten and sister 1. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thnaks for the advice Frannie - it is similar to an approach we are trying. One website suggested confining the kitten to one room, and letting the two sisters have the rest of the house. In order to "swap scents", the kitten's food is placed very close to the door of the confinement room, and the sisters' food is just outside the same door. They hear and smell each other without stress. This seems to be working - the kitten is much more receptive to the elders now, but it is slow and a work in progress. One sister is very curios and wants to play with the newbie, while the other sis just wants to hiss and growl. But we are getting there - thanks again for the advice!
