Just a general reminder as we all get back in the swing of things.

Reporting a post: If you see a post that is troublesome, please use the "Report Post" button. It is the little yellow triangle with an exclamation point at the top right of every post. What that does is send an email to all of the moderators of that forum with a link to the post and the reason you give us for reporting it. It usually works much faster that way, because some of us moderators are here, but invisible.

Complaints and Problems: We have a really excellent team here with the Advisors, Community Leaders and Mentors. But if you have a complaint about something on the board or a technical problem (beyond not knowing how to do something, we're all willing to help there), there isn't much they can do. Please direct complaints and board issues to the moderating team who can assist you.

Thank you all very much!

We promote this site as being a "family site", and different people have different perceptions of what that means. Any time we get a complaint, the moderators look at the complaint as a team and determine if it is acceptable or not. I've never seen a complaint for no reason, although there have been times when the complaint wasn't necessarily acted upon because it was determined by the moderators and Anne (who always has the final say as the site owner) that the post was acceptable to the average member.

Just to expound on what Heidi has said, if there is no reason for a complaint, then after the post is pulled off the board and reviewed by the moderating team, there is no action taken, and the original poster will receive an apology from the mod who received the original complaint.

Any time we receive a complaint, the thread will be pulled and held until the team can look at it, discuss it and make a determination. We really try to maintain a friendly and family oriented website, and I have been on many forums where there is no moderation. There is spamming, slamming, flaming, and usually the forum does not last very long.

This has been said many times over, but if you have a complaint about this board, or any member, or mod, take that complaint to anne via email. I will tell you after working closely with her for over 2 years, you will never meet a more fair-minded and diplomatic woman than her-

The Catsites strength is the genuine niceness of the people. When the site went down, I thought about why I missed the forums. Here's why: We all have cats in common, but no one is allowed to be catty. We're sheltered from meanness! In a cold and cruel world, it's refreshing to find warm and caring people. Thumbs up everybody.

And a big thumbs up to the moderators who keep it this way.

Bump is just to indicate that you want to move the tread to the top of the listing so that it can easily be viewed. It is normally done with things that are important.
