I am so excited I had to share.

Our daughter was home from work today and she called to tell me she let Mika out of her room to roam with Bijou. She said they played well together all day which made my heart sing. That was a couple hours ago. She just now called to say that Bijou was sleeping in his favourite spot on the sofa and she covered him with my flannel sweater. As soon as he was covered Mika went over and laid down on my sweater and on top of Bijou and they were sleeping like that. She took a couple of pictures and I can't wait to get home to see them.

We've been so hoping that they would become friends. It's been 2 weeks today that Mika has been with us - I'm so excited.

We still will not leave them alone when we aren't home. When Bijou gets a bit rough I just have to firmly say "Guys" and they both immediately stop so I think it's important for us to supervise for awhile. At least until Mika has healed completely from her operation.

I love the pix of Bijou. And it is great about Mika - I know how much you hoped for that. Yay.

Thank you Jenny. Is that a new picture of Persil in your signature? There is something about that kitten that pulls my heart strings.

I'll share! Just imagine Bijou in my first signature picture and you'll have Mika. I think the only way we are going to be able to tell them apart will be her pink collar.
Actually I doubt if she will get as large as Bijou - he's a pig. When it comes to eating though, Mika is no slouch either.

As far as playing rough goes...just remember that Bijou is a boy. And like most boys/men, they don't take hints very well.
I say this with experience with my Trent and Ophelia. He never gets the hint that she doesn't want to play. He just keeps playing until a) she smacks him good, or b) we hear her hissing and growling and yell at them to knock it off. Now, she's no angel in all of this. Sometimes she's a typical girl and teases him into playing then switches to "I don't want to play" on a dime.

LOL Bijou would play all day if someone would play with him. Mika is more laid back and "dainty". I just worry that since she just had her spaying last Friday that he may hurt her and perhaps I'm being overly protective. You are right about the "no angel" bit as well. He'll lay down on the carpet and she'll run up and attack him. I do think they will do well though once they have established who the boss is!
