I am 31 weeks pregnant now and while I have had cravings they keep changing. Is that normal? I thought you would crave something for the whole time while you were preggers. For example, in my 1st trimester my poor hubby had to by me this special fresh made bread 2 times a week that was baked with onions and poppyseeds in it. Then he bought it and I didn't even want to smell it any more. Then I had no cravings for a bit, then a desparate urge for my nacho cheese dip. Once I had it however, that urge was gone. I just had a recent need for chocolate icecream. Now I want deviled eggs and a baked potato from the Keg restaurant with their special 3 cheese butter and bacon bits on it! I am going nuts! Please tell me that it all magically stops once the baby is born.

It doesn't stop immediately, but it slows down and then stops. I craved different stuff all the time. Like the first cravings were for the classic ice cream and pickles (not necessarily at the same time though). Then I wanted avocado chips and slim jims. Thinking about that right now makes me sick, but I wanted them so badly back then. I also loved anything Mexican. We had Mexican 3/4 times a week, but now we haven't had it since the baby was born (although I did have it in the hospital while recovering from the birth). At the end of the pregnancy I craved Ben and Jerry's mint chocolate cookie and now it's just not good to me anymore.

My mom craved the smell of gasoline when she was pregnant with me. That might explain a few things about me...

The only thing I really craved was chocolate fudge cake and went to the trouble to make one from scratch one night only to have one piece and that satisfied my craving. My husband ate the rest of the cake.

I still have cravings and our daughter is 24. Every so often my body cries out for something and I just enjoy and go with it.

Lately it's Haagen Daas ice cream - a half a tub every night for the past 2 months. This too will pass! In the meantime it's decadent. I've been noticing a commercial for a chocolate cake lately. Time for some chocolate fudge cake.

24 years of craving is an awfully long time. Can you still blame them on your pregnancy? I hope so!

I new a girl who loved strawberry anything, and when she got pregnant she couldn't eat them.. it came back every time. symbiotes have way too much say in what you eat.

I'm at that enviable age where I don't have to justify anything I want. I've paid my dues and now it's my turn to enjoy every day.

At the kitty's beck and call
how boring am I? I never had any cravings! or morning sickness (although I think I was lucky on that score). I think I missed out now, your cravings sound so interesting

I've never been pregnant but my Mum craved honey and onion sandwiches
when she was pregnant with both my sister and me. Aspparently she soaked the onions in vinegar first too. Personally i think it sounds disgsting but she says don't knock it till you try it

What's mince? Is that like ground meat? Believe it or not, I've heard it's not uncommon for women to crave really rare or raw meat when they're pregnant. Something to do with the iron.

I EAT RAW MEAT!!
its called Metbrötchen. Its with onions... well its raw minced pork meat i think.
Depending on how fresh it is it can be very delicious.
I used to really hate it
But its really normal for germans to eat raw stuff.

I feel your pain regarding the lack of Mexican food in the GTA...but at least if you start craving greek you can hit the danforth

My mom says she ate an entire cheesecake (not a normal sized one, a shower sized one on a "slab") when she was pregnant with me...swears that's why I like it.

Also, it is VERY normal for your cravings to change throughout the pregnancy...just sometimes incovenient! I swear, 24 hr grocery stores are the best thing to ever happen....not that I've ever been pregnant, but i am the master of suddenly deciding I want something (and ONLY that thing) to eat.

Movin' on up!
With my first pregnancy, it was spicy food. I lived on spaghetti, pizza, green chile burros and Mylanta

Second time around, it was malted milk balls and Clover Club (local brand) sour cream and onion potato chips. Both times - gallons of Pepsi.
