here's one of me with a very dorkey sun in the eyes face on my horse.
My husband says it's a horrible picture of me and he is NEVER negative about the way I look, he even says I look beautiful when I look like I crawled out of the sewer!

Elizabeth! Wow, you wouldn't see an age gap there at all!! You both look so young!

Bengalbabe, you are very photogenic!
You have a very beautiful family too!
Gosh, I just couldn't guess how old you are, you look so young! (although, i'm no good at telling ages and Ari and I both look abot 12!
)
I'd say, as you have children that you are say, mid to late 20s?!!
Sorry if i'm way out!

Eddie - 45??? No - you're joking. You don't look 45!

There's a 16 year age gap between hubby and me - it makes life so much more interesting! And you know I love that picture of you both - you look so happy.

Sam - you look great - I thought there was something different about your hair.
Bengalbabe and Brian - lovely photos guys - it's nice to meet you.

Thanks Beth!!! But yes, truly I am 45. When I first met Hissy I told her and she said there were also 17 years between her and Mike, but honestly, our culture embraces that while paints a very different picture if the female is older. It doesn't bother me, I just think our values are ridiculous.

I agree entirely - you both love each other. If society can't see past that it's narrow-minded and/or short-sighted. I wish you both every happiness.

And you know....these relationships have legs
. Mike and MA have just celebrated 18 years of marriage. Hubby and me celebrate 20 years of marriage this year. The omens are good!!

Your horse doesn't have a dorkey face! ;-)

If you like, I have a suggestion that might help you find a picture of yourself that you like.

(disclaimer, I'm not a photographer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...)

I find a lot of people who say they "never look good in pictures" are usually keying in on one feature, wrinkle, shadow that they don't like about their face.

My suggestion is to go to a decent photographer (wearing black), and ask to have a "hollywood style' or "spotlight" portrait. These are the black and white portraits you'll often see taken of old '50's movie actresses.

The light all comes from a single bright spotlight, which washes out a lot of detail, and gives nearly everyone a very clean featureless "airbrushed" look. Many people find the look very pleasing and youthful.

I've seen them done as couple's portraits as well, but in your case I'd suggest finding a VERY GOOD photographer in that case, since your husband's skin is so much darker then yours, and the average high-school minimum-wage mall photographer might not be able to make it work.

EDDIE!!

You're beautiful
you can just see your sweet personality shining through in that picture, and Eric has such a cute "little boy in love" expression

Okay someone asked me for a photo, but I couldn't seem to find my old one in here. I either scrolled too fast or it wasn't showing up or I didn't go back far enough. So, bah! Humbug! I'll link to another one. Here's me around Christmas time. I took it for a dear friend of mine.

By the way, while trolling back I also saw some people I hadn't seen before. Now there a few more faces I can put to the names. This is one big thread.

Oh yeah, and Chris, (captiva) I saw you get away with posting that microscopic photo of you on the beach. You're lucky I didn't see that post so long ago.
Time to show us a real pic.
