I thought this story was really interesting and I'll try to post an update tomorrow.

So what do you think???
Is this just a big misunderstanding or is this a cause for concern?

I read it halfway, then lost the article and now I have to register to read the rest. Argh!

Two things stood out in the part I did read. One, the MIL quote...something to the effect that 'he made a mistake in marrying her, but she's a good girl.' Then HE must be a bad boy!

Two, she did it to raise funds for her little girl's school, so that her little girl could win a prize. And how many of us haven't hocked wares to people all across our neighborhoods for the same reason? To make our children happy with that prize?

I don't like school fundraisers. Really.Don't.Like.Them. And now? I have proof that fundraisers can turn perfectly sane mothers, good girls, and upright citizens into criminals.

No more magazines! No more popcorn! No more wrapping paper! No more nuts!~ Just raise my taxes to pay for whatever you need.

She's a disgrace to the profession. Even if the shots turn out to be true flu vaccines...she stole them and lied about her identity.

There is nothing wrong with school fundraisers. My nephew's school has a Market Day once a month to raise funds. The problem arises when they give a PRIZE for the most money raised by a child.

This happened just north of Seattle and there are two major groups of thought around here: that it was found out she ordered it legitimately and the flu serum was pure, non-tained, non-toxic and was administered in the proper way. No uproar there. .......The other thread of thought echos what most are feeing, that it wasn't really about fundraisers or sympathy, or even frustration that in such an area populated with clinics and hospitals and the nation's #1 med school, the University of Washington, that a simple Nurse could instigate it to make the flu shots available. The issue of concern is control. And it scares all the big wigs. If a Nurse can do this, then what next?? Trainers giving morphine at the local gym when you pull a muscle??

Here's the update http://www.kstp.com/article/stories/S4753.html?cat=1

mrsd, I'm sorry you weren't able to finish reading the article, and I wish these online papers wouldn't expect people to register! The update is from one of our local TV stations, so you should be able to read the whole article this time.
