I feel so lucky to have my cat Simon right now. It's silly, but it's true. He's always been MY kitty. He loves me and if every other human fell off the earth it would be OK with him.
Tonight, I was making dinner and Simon took up his usual spot right behind me (always totally in the way!) Well, while dashing around making dinner I stepped on his tail. Now, the moment I felt fur under my foot, I jumped to get off his tail. This sweet kitty never made a sound, never moved and never even flinched. He just looked at me like "I knew you would move!" I was so shocked. A cat's capacity for love and trust never ceases to amaze me.
