A first time kitty mommy...and so happy

I'm so totally in love you can't imagine....or yes, I guess you all can. I have never had a cat, dogs growing up, but never cared for dogs...they scare the crap out of me.

My three kids (the human kind) and I got these two precious angels from rescue cats (www.rescuecats.org), and they've been wonderful since they've come home.

I'm pleased to admit we run a peaceful homeful, no extreme distractions, nothing more than the occasional tv and computer. The kittens are calm and loving, eating well, exploring, and enjoying their new life. Tomorrow will be one full week in our home.

Cissa did have coccidia, both are on meds, and they take it like such little troopers. They both eat heartily, it is obvious that Lucius has gained, and Cissa is so tiny that I put her on the scale today, and she's gained 6 oz in 5 days (please tell me that's good.) I figure any gain is good.

Cissa was born on 9/5 and Lucius on 8/1. Lucius was found with a sibling, quite sick and was bottle fed from infancy on. His foster mommy, Marty, was a wonderful sweet lady who fostered so many, and took such wonderful care of her babies.

I cant say whether the gain is good or not - but like you I believe any gain is great!! and what little troopers they are taking their meds so easily - do you think they could give some tips to my Tipsy on how to do that?

Thanks for all your nice welcomes. There is so much for me to learn, but honestly, I loved being a mommy to my own babies when they were little...holding them most the day and nursing and doing sweet things. This is just like following through with what I feel is right.

When I was at the vets and they gave the first kitty his meds I said that I need to try it myself and they taught me not to be afraid to hold the kitty, hold his head back, hold his cheeks...and it all worked, I was so proud of myself. Thank goodness the stuff must taste half decent too...LOL.

So much to learn, so much lovins to give.

Oh, I just noticed that one of your furbabies has brown eyes and the other has green eyes! Is Narcissa the one with green eyes?
