and I was so excited about TCS being back that I forgot to mention it. We had an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale at 2:57 a.m. yesterday, so it was a bit more than the usual monthly 3.0 tremor. Robert and I slept through it! I'm not sure about Jamie - he was sleeping on top of me when I finally woke up around 8:30 a.m., but he's been doing that lately because of territorial/jealousy issues with a second cat. She was sound asleep in the spare bedroom. There are no reports of injuries, but some damage to buildings, like our school. People apparently ran out of their houses, called the police and fire company, etc., and we missed all the excitement. The "land" (state) we live in is definitely earthquake-prone, and now I'm really starting to worry about the nuclear power plants.

Wow, freaky! If I were you I wouldn't be sure if I would be relieved that I slept through it, or a bit concerned that I slept through it - know what I'm saying?

LOL! My sister and I both live in California (she in San Francisco and me in San Diego) and we both have slept through every single earthquake! I was up in San Bernadino once and there was an earthquake in the middle of the afternoon and I still slept through it because I ended up taking a nap! I heard the floors were rolling during that earthquake.

I don't think so. The epicenter was in Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg, roughly 60 miles southwest of Stuttgart. Frankfurt does get tremors, though. The Black Forest, in southern Baden-Württemberg, is Germany's "earthquake region".
