Dear Kim, don't worry about hijacking the thread! I am praying for you and for him all day and at night too. I hope that you can get into the vets sooner but mainly I hope that this goes away completely and his sight is unaffected and normal and that he doesn't have anymore trouble! Poor little guy and poor you! I hope this is resolved soonest and your lives can get back to normal! Hugs

Hi all, don't know if I've posted much today, except on the "Strange Eye Infection" thread that I started in Health & Nutrition.

I took Smudge up to bed last night, and he slept on my feet. This morning when I got up, he got off the waterbed by himself (which he wouldn't do yesterday). Then he followed me around the house, going down, then up, then back down the stairs. He found our upstairs litterbox by himself. The second time he went down the stairs he sort of trotted instead of going really slowly like the first time. He ate and drank, and let me put him on the loveseat, where he spent the morning. My husband works from home and talked to him and watched tv with him. He ate lunch and is laying on the other couch with Elsa.

How do his eyes look today? Lucy and Carly are going to try to keep Roofies going so Smudge is welcome to come over for catnip tea and sit in the sunspot with Much.

Good day kitty friends, I WOOD say good mornin but my lazy meomwy has just NOW let us onto the computer. I am hopin that my friends will forgive us, it not EGGZACTLY ALL our fault that meomwy tired, after all she shod be USED to staying up all nite by NOW, rite?
I gues it mainly because she is so old, she don't got nearly as much energy as me or tia! Well it supposed to be cool and cloudy today, only supposed to be 72! At least meowmy had a good pla session wif us at about 4 am this mornin, she was playin wif ME to and I was chasin and bitin the squeeky critter!. But then I bited his string in two so meomwy had to fix him and said that was all for now cuz I was getting TOO wound up and RUFF!
Hey, I am a BIG TUFF BOY, of COURSE I plays RUFF! Tia was jus watchin, I think I impressed her with my fast moves and quick catches(she was smart and stayed out of his way!, meowmy) Plus meomwy caught BAD ALEX teasin me again so she is thinking he is sneak teasin me when she goes to the store an stuff. Meomwy is hopin reel hard that he moves out next summer! Maybe iffn he was gone and I stopped gettin teased I wood stop bein so crabby and ruff! At least she hasn't caught him teasin Tia, he too skared she wood bite him like she did meomwy that time!
Meowmy and I wish she WOOD, meomwy sez she wishes I wood bite him HARD so he wood stop, but so far I haven't. Meomwy and daddy tries not to leave when he is there so I not have to be alone wif him. Well anyway, what is my friends doing? Anything fun? We is hopin to play more games wif meomwy today and to get good news about our friend smudgie, yur friends jasper and tia

Hi everyone, Meowmy Kim here. Sorry - I had trouble writing last night. I'll have to put it in all the threads I guess. Smudge has FIP - well, they're doing a test today, but frankly, he has a classic case. Our prayers should now be that he doesn't experience any pain, and that we know when to let him go. His momma Elsa was looking for him last night, I think. We'll bring him back home tonight and help his through the rest of his short life. Thank you all for being his friends.

I'm here for you. I hope the tests come out negative, and it's something not so severe. If it is FIP, and you do have to do what's best, know that I'm here for you if you need to talk. It helps to talk about it, and I know what you're going through, because I just went through it with Belle, and I may be able to help. Wishing you the best!

Thanks, Cassie, but there's no way the tests will be negative. He's got a classic case - his liver is failing and his red blood cells have gone all haywire. His retinas are detached and he is totally blind. Hopefully I'll be able to make the best decision for him...

Thanks everyone. I wish i was home right now - with him (even though he's not yet). I don't know if I should stay on the cat site. I can't post as Smudge anymore.

No, no - you must stay with us - post as another of your furbabies - don't you have 2 or 3?
