As for the backups. The two backups systems that we had failed. We are paying a monthly fee to our host for daily backups of the server that are kept on another machine altogether. And that failed too. Computers - go figure
I hear that... Computers are a true love/hate relationship. Glad we are up though.

I did chuckle when I read "totally forgot about the original reason for this upgrade." It's kinda funny. At least it wasn't the world that crashed.

yeh...in the scheme of things - alot worse stuff happens than an internet forum being partially lost!!

(no disrespect to any of the TCS admin whatsoever, just that you have to put things into perspective!)

Hi guys - very long time no see! I tried to get on on Thursday or Friday for the 1st time in 3 months and you weren't here! I am glad, however that everything is getting back to normal.

This seems the appropriate lead in for one of my favourite observations:

"To err is human; to REALLY foul things up takes a computer"

You guys all did great! Thanks,

Kathryn

I'm sorry that all had to happen to you. As already said, what a nightmare.
You guys must have been worried. While I must admit I'm upset about my siggie and my post amount, I love TCS and I will continue to come and help out. You can't keep me away!
Keep up the good work!

Even though the threads may be missing, we still have our wonderful people here who will answer every call for help and every question asked. I am so happy we are back. Even my babies cried.

Hey MA, this all reminds me of a saying I loved many years ago, and still do. It went:

IF YOU LOVE SOMETHING SET IT FREE! IF IT COMES BACK IT IS YOURS. IF IT DOESN'T, IT NEVER WAS!

Hey Catsite - You're back and you're mine!

I'm not meaning to sound bothersome, but, again, I don't understand what you explained either, I'm sorry, please rephrase to me, what you mean?

If there hasn't been a post for a while -- and sometimes that's not very long if there's a lot of activity on the board -- the thread can fall far enough down the list to become invisible. So, a "bump" adds a post which shoots the thread back up to the top of the list where it can be readily seen by folks who might have missed it earlier.

I glad your back live even though my emotional, cathartic posts are gone forever but the memories will live on.
