My husband and I adopted an 8-12 week old kitten from the SPCA in early April. The vet said he was 8 weeks when we adopted him - the SPCA said 12 weeks. Anyway, we have a 12 1/2 year old schnauzer that is diabetic that requires insulin shots 2x per day. For the most part, Max has gotten along famously with our dog. However, the dog is blind and not in great health. A friend of my husband's at work has offered us the opportunity to adopt a female kitten about 10 weeks of age, which I am really interested in. However, we are going away for 7 days on July 12th, and I will begin work full-time again on July 19th. (I have been working part-time since March). Our kitten has had a lot of undivided attention from me, and he is very social and friendly. I have two questions: 1) is the timing right to adopt another? and 2) will the two kittens bond and not be as loving and friendly as our kitten is now?
