I found a new kind of cat litter at the store today called Scoop-Lite - it's a very lightweight scoopable litter that changes color to detect UTIs, and is supposed to be flushable. It says that a 2.5 lb bag = 17.5 lbs of clay litter.

Has anyone tried it? If so, what did you & your cats think of it?

I really like the idea of a lightweight litter.

I may have to look into this. We've used clay litter for years (the wood litter was not a it in this household!), so this may be an alternative to consider.

Hmmm..I will definetly look into this. My baby has a bad time with UTI's and this would be an even better way to catch it before he gets to sick!

Just heard of it this week in my quest for information before out appt Wed. Which store did you find it? I'm curious how reliable it is at detecting blood in the urine? I wonder if it would detect trace amts. or how much blood would be required to be present?

It does scatter a little, but not as much as most of the fine-grained clay scoopable formulas. I use it with a covered litterbox, though - if your cat is a 'litter tossing' type you might end up with it everywhere.

I haven't been able to find it in stores lately, so I hope it hasn't been discontinued.

Gibby doesn't get it... he digs the walls(of the box), not the bottom, LOL, he'll scratch the walls for about 20 minutes before going,
