I sure did not know how much work a puppy would be
My new puppy "Lady" sure keeps me on my toes , meaning busy . I think a human baby is easy to care compare to a puppy . A baby you just change the diaper and bath and feed ect , eccept the crying part of course . A puppy now , oh gosh . I am constandly have to go outside with her and watch her all the time what she is up to . Her teeth are comming in now , so she sure like to chew all the time
I got some chewing toys for her and pig ears to chew on and today I made a order of more greenies and beef sticks and I forgot the rest I order
Oh well . Well not just for her , for all the dogs , but having her in mind
. She found the litter boxes now

She also follow me every where in the house and the back yard and it looks like she is moms baby
. She is my baby girl
Lady also is doing good with the cats and is sleeping sometimes with them , if they want to
Toby really enjoy her very much ( BostonTerrier ) and both play a lot with each other every day . I will post picks soon , my disk is almost full
So in all Lady is a hit for cats dogs and humans

I also had a vet appointment today with Lady , she got some shots and the vet said her heart and lungs sounds great . No fever or anything , or any ear mites
Lady is about 14 weeks old and only weigh 20 pounds and need to gain weight . Her rips don't show any more like she did in the beginning and I guess she gain a little , also her fur looks already much better
The only thing is the allergie she is having from them flea bites she had when they picked her up from the streets and they seem to itch . So I got some antybiotics for her to clear that all up in a week Dr Kyle said . And need to go back in 3 weeks for her last shots
So in all she is doing great

OK it is official now , Lady is a Catahoula/Great Dane mix

It's great Lady got a clean bill of health, and the itchiness will go soon. Glad everything's going well, and she sure sounds like a happy handfull.

Oh Hedi! Lady sounds like such a sweetie pie! I laughed thru your entire post. We got our new puppies in late December and late January respectively. And they started eating everything they came across. So we gated off all litter boxes, put away the cat toys, sprayed bitter apple on everything, and by trial and error, found out which chew toys gave them the runs when they ate them so took them all away.

Our boys were the masters of the litter box dive. Even with baby gates around them, they would barrel thru them and go for the litter. We designed a wooden box cover with a hole in one side that the puppies couldn't get in. Just as we finished the design someone was moving and gave us 4 of hers. Yippee! Saved us some work.

We found out that pig's ears, beef sticks and Kong filling gave them the runs when they were younger. So those are packed away until they get older. They LOVE greenies!!

We found where every feral cat poops in our yard, and do you know they have their preferred spots? We didn't know it but the puppies discovered it! LOL My arm muscles got firm giving them the leash tug when they zoomed in on the poop.

OMG they are a lot of work!! I've never had human kids, but I spend incredible amounts of time with mine just watching them. Thank heavens they are reaching the age where they are housebroken (big yipee), and all adult teeth are in so the chewing is less.

But the good news is that I have lost a lot of weight and firmed up my muscles taking the puppies for their long walks. Puppies can make you buff!!

Oh gosh Momofmany two pups , you sure had your hands full

I also notice she has her area where she like to use the bathrooms
to funny . She is the privat type
Her stool is really ok , only sometimes a little soft and yes green from the greenies
She is going in the night in the bathroom where the litter boxes are and is using it as toilet
What a smart and good girl she is
She still has to go a long way
and I am glad I don't work every day and so be there most of the times .

Thanks Blondie and superkitty , yes pics are comming soon in the pictures thread

Puppy pee pads are truly worth the money if she doesn't chew them up before using them. They make them with baby powder to help mask the smell. If she's going in the bathroom with the litter boxes, perhaps put one of them in there. If she doesn't know what it is for, dab a little bit or her urine on it and leave it on the floor.

Are the puppy pee pads really that good ? I never used them , well I am not really very experienced with puppy's any way . But I do read a lot up on puppy's and my friend Iris is the dog lover and knows a lot about dogs . So we exchange knowledge with each other with dogs and cats

I was skeptical about using them at first, but saw them used at the humane society with the puppies. They are kind of like diapers that you put on the floor - they absorb liquids pretty well, have a plastic backing so it doesn't leak all over the floor, and are easily replaced. Growing up we used newspapers, but I remember having the paper stick to the floor and the print bleeding onto the floor so you had a lot of work to clean them up. These you just scoop up and wipe the floor underneath with a paper towel (if they have leaked at all).

Our only issue is that the boys liked to chew them, so I had to stop that habit right away. They only chewed them up when they were clean, so I always dabbed a clean one into a soiled one in a corner to put the smell into them. Then the puppies didn't eat them.

Good to hear she got a clean bill of health.
That's so cute, that she's a Mummys girl. Good luck with her, I know puppies can be hard work.
