I have too many cats now, a mother cat had kittens in my yard, but she is now lost. I searched around for her but she was probably killed or captured. I raised these kittens up and they are doing great, but I have no room for more cats in the house. I tried to put them for adoption on ebay but my posting was deleted because of their policies. What can be done? I don't want them to go in a shelter, but I can't keep anymore cats but I had to take care of these kittens.

have you tried pet finder? I think it's at www.petfinder.org.

Also you might put a listing in the local newspaper. However, before you are so quick to give them to people. Please make sure that they will be a good home for the kitten, and that they will spay/neuter them.

Wish I could help you with more, however, I'm not that wise in the ways of rehoming a cat as I've never had to do it yet. I'm sure others on here will be able to help you much much more.

Hi!

You might want to try posting this question in the Cats SOS forum - there are lots of people there with experience rehoming cats.

There's no place like home
www.petfinder.com is a good site. You can use it to find shelters in your area. Not all shelters are kill shelters. Many are no-kill with in-home fostering programs. If you are willing to keep these until they are adopted, perhaps find a no kill shelter in your area and offer to foster them. They will help you with food and vet costs and will ensure that they are neutered before going out into the world.

If this doesn't work for you, put an ad in the paper, post ads at grocery stories and other stores. Always ask for an adoption fee (typically $25) and never, never, never say free to a good home. There are folks out there that look for these ads and take the pets for medical research. If you meet the people (perhaps a home visit?), and are comfortable with them, waive the fee.

Good luck!

I put them on petfinder.com. I am capable of keeping them for a while trying to find a home, but I am worried that they are starting to get big. Along with my adults, can't keep so many in my home since we are already slaves to cats. I have some pictures at: http://iris.nyit.edu/~kfederki those pictures have been up for two weeks and the kittens are bigger and have more super-powers now.

Some other places to post...and yes....the cat site SOS is listed so ignore that one.

http://www.natewood.net/Rehome.html

Also...my site is geared towards Virginia...so if you want to post on Craigslist...go here:

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/about/cities.html

select the city closest to you and then click on pets in the community section and you can post an add. Here in Virginia/Maryland/DC many people use Craigslist.

Good Luck

You may be able to post an add in the local newspaper it will cost alittle bit but, you can put only to a good home or whatever you wish and find out about the people a little before they take a cat to make sure they don't have bad intentions.

Did you ask family. If that isn't good then post at the vet office. The vet can let you know what they think of the new patients before you take the kits to them.

They're very pretty little cats--I sure hope you find homes for them.

They are ADORABLE and are going to become incredibly beautiful cats
Perhaps you could ask your local cat fancier clubs; what gorgeous coats!!! And their colors!
just like 50/50 popsicle bars - Oh, I wish that they were closer so I could get them!!
