Here is the sweetest little boy in the whole world!! We are fostering him and he goes to his forever home on Sunday. He is deaf, and I've learned so much from him this week as I attempt to teach him sign language. He was born in a barn and all of his other siblings were killed by predators. Being deaf, he stuck close to the barn and saved himself, but was adopted out at 4 weeks old. His "owners" took him to a kill shelter last week - probably cause they didn't know how to handle a deaf kitten.

How utterly precious is this boy?!?!? And he goes to a home that had a deaf cat for 14 years and knows all about sign language for cats. Is that cool or what?

If I was employed and had some money I would adopt this cat in 2 seconds... His name is Neutron and he's absolutely stunning!
I'm hoping he'll still be available in July.

I have met deaf cats before but never lived with one before. My foster is truly awesome!! So incredibly bright - I stopped his play bite aggression in about 2 hours and he started to learn the "NO" sign after about a dozen leaps on the china cabinet.

You have to retrain yourself with them. I talk to all my cats constantly. He can't hear you so you have to be creative and find other methods to communicate with them. We jokingly claim his name is *thump-thump*, as that is how we call him.

I know the blue eye is the dominant color for deaf white cats, but the adopter's deaf white cat had gold eyes. This little boy's eyes look blue and green, but the green eye is actually gold surrounded by green (pic didn't capture it). His blue eye has a light and darker blue band.

I posted this picture in another thread a while back but here it is again.

This is Taj and her son Spot. Spot had a big black spot on his head when he was born. It gradually faded and he is now pure white.

Here are pics of my Ally- Hooray for white cats! My black sweaters and shirts love them!! Ally is 2 years old and not deaf! She is crazy 24/7 and loves to play all day long! She was surrendered to the Broward county hiumane society pregnant at 8 months old and also misdiagnosed as deaf. She was just very sick from her pregnancy and has hearing back 100%. I love her to death and so does her sister kiki! I just had to share.
