As I unwrapped my latest purchase tonight and put it on the shelf, I looked around at the boxes in my closet and realized that I collect this item too. Antique dishes. I love antique dishes, tureens, plates, glassware, metal pots, EVERYTHING. I just got my hands on a tea set that came over from Japan somewhere around 1850. I'm still trying to place it. The only thing missing is the tea pot, though.

Crystal animals; regretfully I'm partial to Baccarat's.
I also (I guess) collect opera recordings. I like to buy recordings
of lesser known operas by composers who are known for a handful
of operas, but wrote a lot more. (Many of them have never been recorded.)
I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 opera CDs. I haven't been working for awhile, so that's curtailed my collecting, although I also ran out of room to keep the CDs. I got room for more crystal animals, but my budget does not right now!

I collect trunks I have 12 of them at the moment, milkglass, china plates and anything from the civil war era--so far I have a soldier uniform, plantation desk and a book of written notes. I also have several letters that I have found between the slats of some of the trunks I have bought. While they make for interesting reading, they don't really count as a collection.

Books..... I just bought a new bookshelf and have already filled it, I cannot throw a book away. If I have to get rid of them I have to get a family member to have them, failing that the PDSA or Cat's Protection shops get them.

I collect books, fantasy and sci-fi mainly and I absolutely love the Dragonlance sets. I also love dollhouses and am currently building one from a kit and making my own furniture for it. Hubby and I also collect animes and have a nice collection so far, he has also recently gotten into sword collecting. I have already gotten him a fantasy long sword for his birthday, it is amazing!

There's no place like home
I used to collect Real Musgrave autographed prints and figurines but haven't bought any in a while - I have to keep everything breakable behind glass and I am out of room for more.

I have a huge collection of CD's, albums and music DVDs. The CD's alone fill up a 7 foot tall cabinet that is 32 inches wide.

Also have a huge collection of cooking utensils. Good thing my kitchen has so many cabinets!

Here's a note for all you figurine collectors. I show my figurines at www.imeha.org It's fun and it's free. If you search the model cat show for 2003 you will see some of my figurines under my maiden name Sarah Prawdzik. There are shows for just about any kind of figurine you could possibly have, fantasy(fairies, dragons, etc.), D&D, horse, cat, dog, farm animal, toy horses (MLP's, etc.) etc....

Let's see collections...I've had a lot over the years.

Currently I'm working on my Wexford glass collection. Drinking glasses and the like. My Grandma had a set that she gave my parent's when I was a kid and I completely relate them to my childhood.

I collect Record Albums, CD, DVD, and Video Games as well. I haven't taken a count of them lately but that's one the things on the to do list.

I'm starting to have a decent library in my apartment as well.

I also collect cat toys.

Actually once I buy a house I'll probably start collecting modern furniture that will be my "big" collection but that is a few years off yet.
