The wound in the pic you have posted sure looks bad Blondie , I know it has to hurt you just looking at it to you . Do you have to make a bandage on her neck so it will stay clean ? I know the air is better for healing and I think there is nothing else you can do . Did the vet give you any meds for her like antibiotics to give her ? I am just wondering .

I am so glad all went so great with the rest of the crew You will see that girls are more lovable , at least that what I see with people having girls
The vet told me not to cover her neck, I thought with a wound like that it would be better to cover it. But I am doing what he said to do. She is on oral antibotics for the next 10 days. Hedi you are right it does hurt me to look at her poor neck I don't want to hurt her any further when I clean it so I am being as gentle as I can with her. She is a hoot already and smart as a whip

Glad she's at home with you, and I know under your care she'll heal quickly! Yay, those pics look like they're all already friends.

Hedi's right, it hurts just to look at that last pic. Grrrrrr.

oh Cathi - Tala is gorgeous think I have another furbaby to come and steal
I hope that wound heals quickly - it does look nasty - it made me cringe too when I looked at it - but she is lucky to have found a loving home with you and the rest of the furbabies
she is one lucky girl !!!

Tala's neck is looking much better. She is doing real well with Nakita and Dakota also Nakita is trying to play with her too It seems they have gotten all of their little squabbles worked out and Tala is fitting in nicely with them.

Last night when I was out there playing with them all it was a wonderful site to see all three of them running through the backyard wide open. Even Nakita blazed a trail with her hip problem, I just hope she doesn't hurt her hip worse doing that

That's wonderful everyone is getting along so well, Cathi! I would think the exercise would be OK, but i wonder if you would want to check with your vet about Nakita's most appropriate activity level?

Awww Cathi thats brilliant!

I was telling my sister about her yesterday, because although she loves cats dogs are her passion! , and she was horrified when i told her of Talas condition

Something i found out about her last night, she thinks huskies are beautiful dogs and has done for a long time

She has a german shepherd 'Benji' who is a blonde beauty

Stephanie I will call the vet and check with them to see if it's okay for Nakita to be running like that. I did take her to the vet the other day for x-rays and eventually Nakita is going to have to have surgery to correct her hip. Right now I am trying what the vet said, continue to give here Rimidyl and get a little bit of weight off her. I hope it works as I don't want to put her through any pain if it can be avoided.

Susan I would love to see a picture of your sister's German Shepherd, sounds like a beauty

Great idea, Cathi! I sure hope this medication is effective for Nakita so she doesn't have to go though that surgery!

awww, thanks, to you too! You're right, I haven't been on much, but I try to keep up on things when I can. Love that Blondiecat and I've got such a soft spot for The Sammycat!

Back to Cathi, *keeping fingers crossed* for Nakita that she won't have to go thru the hip surgery.
