When I took Mittens into the vet last week, he brought home fleas

I knew I shouldn't have left him there for the afternoon. What product should I use on him to get rid of the fleas? And, how do I prevent them from jumping back on him? I have never had to deal with fleas before, so I am totally clueless

And, should I notify the vet since they obviously have a flea problem? Or would that be mean of me???

I would get advantage or frontline from your vet. And use it according to package directions. I wouldn't make a big deal about mentioning the fleas to the vet, just do it as an afterthought.

Thanks MA! Should I bath him first with some flea shampoo, or just get the advantage?

PLEASE don't use any over the counter flea shampoos, dips etc. Get the advantage, that is all you will need, and get it from your vet-

Using over-the-counter flea remedies is risky for the health and well-being of your cat-
