Hi,
Only two days until I hopefully find two kittens at my local shelter to call my own. I know that no matter what you do kittens will always find something to get into that they are not suppose to. One thing that I am worried about is the window blinds in my living room. This is where the cats will be most of the time while I am at work. They are the type that you push to the side and there are three sections (left, right and middle). Since they are ceiling to floor length plastic blinds do I need to worry that the kittens will mess with these and what can I do to prevent this. Trust me these kittens will have tons of toys, scratching posts, cat houses so they have something to climb and I am hoping with all of this, they will not mess with the blinds.

Second, with summer comming up, the air will be running in my condo. Usually I have it set to 74-75 and on auto so it goes on by itself if it gets warming than 74-75. Do I have to worry about the air causing problems with the kittens.

Please let me know if you have any ideas

U're right about the blinds- they can be very dangerous to cats. This happened to poor Zebra and LUCKILY, I was home AND in the same room at the time! Apparantly, she got one of her back legs caught in the blind cord (used for opening/closing blinds) and she was suspended in air for a few minutes, luckily I saw it so I was able to rescue her and she was not harmed.

What I did after that was go to Lowe's and buy those child proof thingies for window blinds- not sure if that'd work with ur blinds? I found this website with a childproof blindwinder pic for u so u can get an idea of what it looks like. http://shop.safetydepot.com/s.nl/c.3...it.A/id.365/.f

Secondly, the temperature at 74-75 should be fine for cats. If it's KITTENS, u might want to make sure the room they're in are warm. I know my temperature tend to be at around 70 and my cats have had no problems with that.

Actually these are the types where the wand is way high up so the cats could't get it. No cords or anything like that. Just the wand to turn the draps and to pull them open. They go ceiling to floor (up and down) not wall to wall direction. My concern is that since they are plasic, they will chew on them.

Thanks,

Jason

You could spray bitter apple on them, or since they are plastic spray bitter apple on a rag and wipe them down. The bitter apple doesn't taster very well and will deter the kittens. I had to do the with the chain for my coo coo clock.

squirtle,

Do you have to order bitter apple online or can you get it at a pet store?
