I was wondering what all of your feelings are about getting one cat vs. getting two so the one cat can have a playmate while I am at work.

I work 8-5 M-F and never work weekends so I am 99.9% of the time always home during the evenings and 99.5% on Sat and Sun. I have heard mixed reviews on the single vs 2 cat adoption. Some say that cats are perfectly fine by themselves, while others say that a cat should have another cat to play with especially if you are getting kittens which is what I am planing on doing.

I am interested to here what you have to say.

Thanks,

Jason

I would recommend getting two. They usually do a lot better in pairs, especially kittens.
Or you could adopt an already bonded pair of adult cats.
If you really only wanted one,you could adopt an adult cat that prefers to be the only cat.
If you can afford and have room for one cat then you surely can afford and have room for two.

Good luck.

I know that it sounded like a weird question especially since I plan on getting two kittens from the same litter at the shelter I am going to Sunday. Like I said, room, funds and space isn't a problem and I even have a 15-20 foot glass window that opens up to my deck that they can look out at the outside world and warm themselves.

I guess it was more me just wondering what others thought than anything else.
