This is harder for those of us who have been here a while!

1. I'm actually pretty shy when meeting new people in person (Hard to believe from the Mod of New Cats! LOL)
2. I shoot high power service rifle competitively. (Target shooting, civilian equivalents of military issued rifles)
3. I have very ecclectic taste in music - from Heavy Metal, to Goth, to Industrial, to Country, and even a bit of Pop thrown in for good measure.
4. I am a BS'er (as my mother would say), Bachelor of Science in Language Arts (a fancy term for multiple facets of English - literature, writing, linguistics, journalism and drama. It counted as a double major.)
5. I always wanted to be a singer in a Rock band.

Hrm, 5 things, huh?
1. I too am shy, terribly so sometimes (but have learned to meet and greet customers very well despite that!
2. I have been our church pianist since I was 9 (I'm 36 now)
3. I love to drive, and wish I could drive a big rig.
4. I guess this goes along with shy, but I don't care much for parties or get-togethers where there are lots of people, you'll find me hiding somewhere quiet.
5. Although I live in rural Alabama, I'm not a redneck (well, most of the time, anyway!)

Wow DiMa! What was it like when you had your surgery and finally could see ?! that must have been SUCH an overwhelming experience

Thanks
It was devastating for a time, but I was used to not seeing much, so it wasn't a big shock. Being legally blind isn't as bad as it sounds. Just couldn't drive. Reading was a pain. But I could see well enough to get around without most people even knowing there was something wrong with me.

Besides, I got lousy sight but I also got perfect pitch in exchange!

Jup! The surgery was horrid (mostly mentally because I had to remain awake and there WAS pain involved although there wasn't supposed to be), but when I sat up, my eyes closed, they told me to look to the right and read what time it was. I though, "I've never been able to see anything w/o contacts & glasses more than 1 inch from my face...this ain't gonna work."

Turned my head, opened my eyes, could see the second hand on the clock ticking by
I started bawling in happiness and hugging the nurse who was screaming at me to stop crying or I'd ruin my new eyes! Oops

Now...I don't think I could be so positive about being deaf. Kellye and her brother have got it far worse in the senses dept. than I ever did! Maybe because I came to rely so heavily on my ears, but the thought of losing my hearing is terrifying!
