why does serj do this?

i've had serj now for a month and whenever he eats he takes a mouthfull runs to the living room drops it and then eats it...not every time though some times he will drop it in another room and leave it there?? baci and system have never done this so i dont know where he got it from. does anyone elese''s kitty's do this,or is mine just a wierdo!! lol

I think I've seen cats do this, but mine don't.

I'll move this to Behavior to figure out the source of Serj's behavior.

I read that cats do not like the feel of the bowl on their whiskers. Mine drop the food on the floor right beside the bowl. He may be taking it to a place he feels more comfortable eating at.
